These are Truly Pieces of Art and Display Wonderfully together. They have elaborate detailing from top to bottom and from front to back. The rim is decorated in a scroll and floral and geometric pattern design utilizing enamel paint drops among other techniques. Enamel drops also decorate the outside bottom of each bowl. The main center image features bronze and copper iridescent paint that makes the scene pop and change slightly in different lighting condition. The center scenes are also painted with hand applied enamels. Such as the white of the horse. The outside of each bowl is decorated with images of cranes. One group is set in flight with the rising sun and the another group is at rest. They are in Remarkable condition without any chips or cracks or repairs or damage. The back of each bowl has the same grouping of hand written Japanese characters. They date to the Meiji period of the late 1800s to early 1900s. Each bowl is thick and heavy. The whole box is lacquered and the lid features a mother of pearl inlaid border. Inside of the box features a lovely pair of dancing ballerinas who spin around to what sounds like a lovely Japanese tune. I cant identify it. The box inner is lined with a lovely pink fabric which is in lovely, bright condition. The multiple mirror effect is a beautiful touch and in excellent condition. Each of the ballerina's look like they may have been glued back into place at some point. They seem sturdy now, please see pics. Both ballerinas spin and the music plays well when the box is opened. All works as it should. There is a little wear to the lid and part of the ... morepaintwork. On the whole, this is in Excellent condition. The box comes with its original key. This is a beautifully hand carved Japanese boxwood cat netsuke. Netsukes were worn on the belt of traditional Japanese dress and are a unique form of miniature sculpture. The subjects vary widely. Including deities, legendary heroes and animals. For Sale STUNNING ORIENTAL BOUDOIR BOX WITH GILDED HAND PAINTED SCENE JAPANESE/ CHINESE This is a really stunning item. Please take the time to read and look at the pictures below This box is made of wood and has two doors on the front which are hand painted scenes of a kingfisher and fish in the river. Which have been done to a high standard, these are set into an orange type of metallic laquered wood and form the doors of the box, it has a lock but no key! These doors are attached by small hinges which are engraved with an"S" or a snake. A couple of the hinges are worn, but can be repaired with some new wire. These doors open to reveal a black shiny gloss painted wooden interior with gilded painted scenes of reeds and rushes. When you pull the drawers out the very back of the wood has not been painted. The outer skin of the box ... moreappears to have been repainted in dark wood at some point in its life, i have not attempted to clean the case or the doors. This has come from a house clearance and is definatley not a new item! The box measures 10 1/2" tall. 9 1/4" wide and 4" deep. SUPERB 6 HAND PAINTED JAPANESE BAMBOO COFFEE CUP SETS
A set of exquisitely beautiful tiny lacquered bamboo cups. Saucers and matching spoons finished with 24kt gold inside and in the decorative pictures. Each tiny cup and saucer has a different scene painted on them. Each scene is so beautifully painted in the finest detail, each one a small masterpiece. These beautiful little cups are 4cms high. With tops 5cms diameter, and a depth of 3cms. The saucers are 9.5cms diameter. Despite the age. Only one little cup has has a repair to it(Pic.12) the breakage has been professionally repaired and is very difficult to see. Other than that all the pieces are in very good condition. The saucers all have 24kt gold rims and the spoons are golden on the inside of the spoon. Some of the spoons have a little loss to the gold, with one of them a considerable loss of gold(Pic.11)

Fantastic hand painted Japanese Satsuma brooch set in solid silver. Circa 1880s. This brooch was actually a very rare Japanese porcelain belt buckle. It has a beautiful hand painting on the surface. The painting is of three farm houses by a stream. Lovely pine trees on the background. The frame is made of solid silver. The silver content is about 800 pure. The silver covers the entire back of the buckle. There is a Japanese solid silver stamp on the back of the buckle. The buckle has been converted into a brooch. This is a very rare antique Japanese piece. Porcelain buckles tend to get damaged easily because they were used. To find one in this good condition is very rare. The buckle is in perfect condition. There is no chip or crack. I had two of these buckles and one was sold to a very dear customer. This is the last one I have. I bought this old ginger jar at an estate sale. It's obvious to me that it's old. I attempted to do some research on it but had no luck. Any help in identification would be nice. However this would only be interesting to me at this point. I didn't find any chips in it. I'm sure that it had a lid at one time too. It stands approximately 5 3/4 inches tall. There are some holes into the sides of the wood at various places and one spot of the wood has chipped out and looks like dry rot or bugs at one time got it. Black paint is chipping off and several of the nails/tacks holding the skin onto both sides are missing. I'm unable to really make out the design ... morepainted on the skin on either side.
