Condiment dish with lid. The dish was made in Japan. I am not sure what this dish is for. Its appearance gives the impression that it is a condiment dish. It has the opening on the side for a small spoon of utensil. The dish has Japanese calligraphy/characters on the lid. I do not know what they translate to. The dish is marked on the bottom with Japan impressed into the clay and the makers mark also impressed into the clay. The mark resembles Mt. Fuji with something above. It is an inverted v shape with something above it. I could not quite make out the mark clearly enough to identify the mark. The dish is in excellent condition. Free of chips and cracks. The dish measures 2 7/8” across with the lid on. And measures 2 5/8” across without the lid. The dish measures 2 1/8” tall with lid on, and measures 1 ¼” tall without the lid.
