This handsome 12 1/8” tall x 5 ½” wide vase has a 4 5/8” top and 3 5/8” diameter foot. It has a traditional baluster form with high relief applied details of a bird and tree with hand chased details and dates from the late 1800s. The surface has been polished with scant traces of old patina in the details and there are bends in the top rim as well as dents in the foot. I can find no maker’s marks. This painting is one of 2 that I am listing. It comes from a 19th century Thai manuscript that is typically in a concertina shape so that is the explanation for the fold mark in the center of the image. This is in both. I'm not sure what the iconography is all about but the image is highly decorative. It is paint or gouache on paper and in reasonable condition for it's age. You don't often see these. Antique Malaysian Niello Silver Belt Buckle-Malay 19th Century
This is a beautiful and honest Malaysian niello 19th Century belt buckle with chased Malay floral motifs on a ground of niello. It has 2 layers of ogival form with a jagged edge and pointed sides. 7" x 3 3/4" The center is a niello dot. This handmade belt buckle was made for ceremonial use of the elite class. This sells for about 3 times my opening bid. Wonderful buckle, well packed.

ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY CHINESE APOTHECARY GOLD/ OPIUM SCALES Description A 19th Century Chinese apothecary scale. Used for gold or opium. Housed in a substantial wooden case. Hinged to slide open sideways, the scales are made up from a brass pan, fastened with string to the end of a graduated bamboo'scale' A heavy brass weight slides on the the other end of the scale by looping the string over the end. The whole lot is held by the string at the fulcrum. Box measures 13.5 inches long. Condition Very good antique condition. Box in very good condition apart from usual signs of wear on a piece of this age. It appears to have had a small plaque or plate to the lid at one time as there are holes where the pins have been. small antique Chinese export covered pot for Thai Market 18th/19th century
Unusual enamel decoration on this little pot. Certainly oriental but the motifs do not look Chinese or Japanese- I have been told this is Chinese export ware for the Thai market, bencharong enamel 18th/ 19th century- one is a creature with a ladies front half and an animals back half, the other picture looks like a buddavista surrounded by flames. The pot is 4 inches tall to the top of the finial on the lid. the main body of the pot is in good condition, the lid has a large flat chip to the underside of the rim plus another couple of chips- all shown in the photos. If anyone has any information about the origins of this item I would be interested to hear. RARE ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY CHINESE CARVED LACQUERED WOOD BUDDHA
This is for a rare original antique 19th Century Chinese carved lacquered wood Buddha holding the gift of a pomegranate fruit.The figurine has a gold edged sash and is mounted on a wooden stand.It is in good overall condition commensurate with age.But there is what looks like an old minor split to the wood across the left sleeve& repaired crack just below the left hand on the wooden staff,clearly seen in the photo's.The Buddha measures an impressive 11" in height,5" across the front of the base& 4" in depth at the base.The figurine itself without the stand measures 8 1/2" in height,just under 4" across the body at the widest point and just under 3" in the depth of the body.Good luck in your bidding.
