Chairs were designed by Alexander Begge and manufactured by Casalino. 3 are signed Casalino-1 isn't but has a date and manufacturing stamp. Table is unsigned but is the one that originally came with the set when bought. Chairs are all space age plastic like Kartell or Panton. Table is formica covered with enamelled steel legs. Table is quite heavy weighing in at 41 lbs before shipping and is exceptionally sturdy. The legs are held on by 6 screws-not the usual 3 or 4. Table is 29 3/4" by 29 3/4" by 20" tall. Chairs are 20 1/2" tall at the back. 12" tall at the seat, 15" wide. Nothing has any chips or cracks but both the table and chairs show scuffing and scratches. Colors are bright. There is no identification as to the maker but based on similar chair examples we have seen we believe it was made by Kalp-Sons. Santa Fe, Ca. The table has a harvest gold Formica top with rattan and cane edging and a rattan base. The rattan frame chairs have cane backs with cloth fabric seats having a butterflies print. Measurements: Table Height: 28” Table Top without Leaf: 43” x 55” Table Top with Leaf: 43” x 73” Table Leaf: 18” wide Chair Seat Height: 17” Chair Overall Height: 35” Seat Diameter: 18” Condition: As is typical of vintage and antique furniture. The set is not perfect. The finish shows some wear, understandable for a 40 +/ year old piece of ... morefurniture but considering its age it is still in decent shape. The caning on the back of one chair has been replaced and though it was a decent job. It is noticeable and not quite the same as the factory job. The cushions have been reupholstered with a butterfly print cloth and the seats are all in very good condition. A few screws have been added randomly to the bases of the chairs for tightening and strengthening and they are structurally solid. The base of the table is structurally solid and in very good condition. The original Formica top shows minor wear and is in very good condition. A nice feature of the table is the ease of installing and removing the leaf with the patented mechanism making it so only one person can easily do the job in seconds. The set shows a little wear from its intended use but certainly is presentable and displays nicely. Overall condition is very good and it will give many more years of service. Mid Century Mod 1960's Chromecraft, Chromantic 66, 4 Star Trek Style Chairs
This is a great set of four 60's MOD chairs. They are made by Chromcraft Inc. Senatobia, Miss. And are called Chromatic 66. They are in the condition I just found them in. I've done nothing to them except wipe them off with Pledge. I took separate photos of each chair so please see photos for condition. There is one chair that has a quarter size hole in the Vinyl(see last photos) and there are a few other small(prick) holes throughout the set. The bases are sturdy and swivel fine. But they are nearly 50 years old, so they have a little play in them. I go about 250lbs, and they handled my weight fine) I spun on all four chairs with my feet in the air to test them(kinda fun! Also, one seat is missing a bolt that attaches to the base, but it looks like it would be an easy repair to put a new bolt in its place, and the seat handled my ... moreweight just fine with only three bolts holding it. Anyway. They are not perfect, but look pretty darn cool and are no doubt functional as they sit. Please ask any question if you have them. Vintage 60s Silver Banded Cocktail Glasses This is a fabulous set of 6 Dorothy Thorpe silver banded hi-ball cocktail glasses. The glasses measure 4-3/8" tall and they are 3-1/2" wide. These glasses are in excellent condition with no damage. On close inspection a couple of the glasses show a very minimal bit of wear to the silver rim but nothing outstanding. The silver rims show some patina but I will leave the method of silver polishing to the new owner. These glasses are perfect for any vintage bar. Vintage 1950's or 60's Kitchen Table and Chairs
This is a pretty nice formica topped table with four chairs. The table top is in excellent condition. The trim around the outside edge is near perfect. One chair has a large rip in the backrest and one has a small area around the edge of the seat where the covering has come off the cord. You can see the photos for the damage I have described. RARE MURIEL COLEMAN IRON DINING TABLE/CHAIRS EAMES MCCOBB GROSSMAN CONOVER KNOLL
California Modern iron dining set by Muriel Coleman for Pacifica design group and manufactured by her company California Contemporary. Extremely hard to find. As is most of her furniture. Everything original except for new teal blue vinyl seats. All pieces have their original chrome glides intact. Came directly out of an estate in Washington state. The chairs are solid iron, as is the dining room table. The back of the chairs mirror the design of the dining table. Very solid and well-made. The dining room table is very rare and the design is quite nice. Milo Baughman did a very similar design for Pacific Iron. The differences here compared to the Milo Baughman design is that the understructure of the legs are welded to the four corners. The Milo Baughman one the legs are not. The glides are also different on the Pacific Iron Milo Baughman ... moretable. They most likely collaborated with this design- who designed it first? That is the question. In any case, fabulous design. The top of the table has a rubber strip that runs along the top to cushion the glass, which just sits on it. If you've seen her desk, it has the same rubber strip on the top with the glass sitting on it. The strip is somewhat deteriorated but can be left alone or replaced easily with a reasonable facsimile. The glass has scratches and wear. It can be left alone, for the purists, or replaced with a new piece inexpensively. The set fits perfectly in a smaller apartment or even as your main dining set depending on your requirements. The dimension on the dining table is 54 X 34 X 29 high. Again. This is a collector's piece as furniture from Muriel Coleman, and her esteemed colleagues- Luther Conover, Milo Baughman, etc. are pretty hard to find. Stunning set of 5 mid-century modern solid wood(walnut? dining chairs by The Basic-Witz Industries Furniture. Inc. Three side chairs and two arm chairs. Great vintage condition! Low backs. Rich color. You rarely see anything from Basic-Witz on the market. Furniture by this company appears difficult to acquire. Quite solid. With only minute marks to the wood. All spindles and brass leg caps are in tact. One leg spindle, and a few of the seat backs and arms are a tiny bit loose-nothing a couple of drops of wood glue can't fix. Original upholstery. Two chairs have larger yellowing spots on the seats. Sadly. These had been horribly reupholstered by the previous owner and the foam that was used on top of the original upholstery disintegrated and left some yellowing around the edges of all 5 seats. There is a 6th chair(a side chair. Not pictured) ... morethat is missing the upholstery, a leg spindle, and has a broken seat back that was badly repaired.
