This is a very large 42 x 17" black and white photo of Machu Picchu I believe. It is in black and white and printed on a heavy paper. There is wear to the edges and some tape on the back corners. There is Spanish writing in the top and bottom borders which I do not understand. I do not know what the purpose of this is- if it was a travellers pic or if it was for archeological purposes. The Mapping of Bermuda” 1983 ed. p23. This edition is by Henri de Sauzet, from the same plate Mercator had used in 1635, but with a slightly enlarged image, a new border, and minor changes in labeling. Has a compass rose just above center of image. Unlike the map on p739 of the 1643 edition of Mercator’s“Atlas Sive Cosmographique” this edition has“U” where Mercator had used a“V” as in the following labels: Somserseti Insula, Latum Fretum, Haringtoni Fretum, and“Sout Hamtoniae Portvs. Not sure if this is a print or reproduction.
