Antique Chinese Carved & Pierced Faux Ivory Fan Hand Painted Paper Mount
Antique 19th Century Chinese carved and pierced faux ivory/bone fan. With pierced and hand painted paper mount. Size- Length in full 11.5" Guard 5.75" Shoulder 5.75" Condition- One guard has a break at the top. loose, as shown) and a repair at the bottom. The shoulder on the same side has a repair at the base. The mount, where it meets the guard as mentioned above, has the last fold glued down to reinforce the repairs. The fan has 12 blades, of which only 11 are moving. Ivory colour dagger/sword handle rare Antique Japanese/Chinese ?
This was given to me by my father approximately 30 years ago and it was given to him by an old army friend after the war apparently it was found during an heavy downpour its been amazingly carved but is damage apparently it used to have a part blade that was loose and now gone the carving shows a warrior on top of another in foliage the carving is stunning but looks like it's missing an arm please see pictures it weighs 92.2 grams and is 14 centimeter long by 3 centimeters at the base starting low grab a bargain

Antique Dieppe hand carved ivory coloured letter opener, c1860
A beautiful antique Ivory coloured letter opener. Hand carved in Dieppe c.1860. The handle is decorated with fine flowers and a ribbed finial. The base of the handle has finely carver flowers on one side and fruit on the other. The blade has an attractive natural grain. Overall length is: 22.5 cm. and weighs 23 g. Condition is very good. No cracks or chips.

Absolutely amazing Collectors piece found from the home of a Chinese fine art collector- new to the market"Ivory" coloured carving/ scrimshaw Dating from 1850-90 this piece of fine carving measure 4cmx 8m each. This is an incredibly detailed and fine carving. Almost 3D in fact! The carving is of a village scene with people. I HAVE KNOWN THESE AT A FRIENDS HOUSE FOR THE PAST 50 YRS AND AS THEY WERE HER PARENTS THEY COULD BE A LOT OLDER THAN THAT.WE ARE NOW CLEARING HER HOUSE AS SHE IS MOVING TO A NURSING HOME. I HAVE ALWAYS ASSUMED THEY ARE IVORY. THEY ARE BEAUTIFULLY CARVED BUT DO HAVE SOME DAMAGE TO TUSKS. THERE IS ALSO ONE BLACK ELEPHANT NOT SURE IF THIS IS WOOD OR RESIN. THE LARGEST OF THE HERD IS APPROX 2 INCHES TALL AND DOES HAVE BOTH TUSKS INTACT. THE NEXT IS 1.5 INCHES AND HAS ONE TUSK THE THIRD IS APPROX 1 INCH WITH NO TUSKS.NEXT APPROX 0.75 INCH WITH BOTH TUSKS NEXT APPROX 0.50 WITH ONE TUSK AND LASTLY A TINY ONE. ALL THE TRUNKS ARE INTACT AND THE DETAIL IS FANTASTIC ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU REALISE HOW SMALL SOME OF THEM ARE. THE BLACK ON HAS HIS TUSKS BUT HAS ONE EYE MISSING. I DO THINK THIS IS WOOD.

Beautiful Antique Chinese or Thailand Carved Ivory Puzzle Ball with Stand This 19th Century Chinese or Thailand Ivory or Cow(I do not know how to tell but was told ivory) Bone Puzzle/ Mystery Ball with stand has been carved from with exquisite detail. The detailed work and colors of the carvings are top notch and would make a great addition to any collection. The ball depicts a dragon that swirls around the entire ball. It appears to have 10 separate and freely moving layers. I am not positive) each within the other. A fascinating and incredible piece of artistry and workmanship. A lot of work goes into these detailed designs. There does appear to be some vintage coloration on parts of ball but no cracks or problems that incas find. See photos. The ball measures 2 1/4" inches in diameter. The stand is 8 inches tall and the base of the ... morestand is 2 1/4" inches in diameter. The maker has a set of"L" shaped tools the one with the longest upright has the shortest cutter and the one with the shortest upright has the longest cutter. Starting with the longest tool he lowers it to the narrow bottom of each hole in turn and rotates it to cut the innermost ball free. Then he gets the second tool which does not reach so far down the hole but can cut a wider arc and separates the second ball. He continues working from the innermost to outermost shell. For obvious reasons. Usually only the outermost balls are elaborately carved. The outer layer is twice as thick as the inner layers. This is because the two outer layers are fused together.
