For sale is an unusual carved horn or bone ornament or some kind of tool. It is flat with two carved grooves at one end and pointed at the other end. It measures about 18cm(7" long and at the widest point it measures about 7.5cm(3" wide and it is about 10mm thick. I am no expert in this kind of thing. regency brise fan carved horn steel palette decoration
This is such a lovely piece.A Carved Horn Brise fan dating I believe from the Regency period, and probably made around 1800/1820. It is made from pierced horn leaves strung together with silk ribbon and profusely decorated with steel palette type sequins, designed to shimmer and sparkle in the candlelight, perfect for the Ball at Netherfield.or the Assembly rooms at Bath] The size of the fan is 11 inches at widest and 6.5inches high. The piercing is very delicate and it has a slightly asiatic feel so was possibly made in India or Asia, as so many of the muslin& fabrics of the period were. The condition of the piece is not perfect, there are small losses here and there to the horn, the ribbon has broken in some places so will need to be replaced, it was stuck to one fan stick which i have prized open, some steel palettes are missing too, ... morebut it is still a magical object, and glitters magnificently from the past.if only it could speak.I will post worldwide.

For your consideration is a set of 6 similar style. Indonesian, vintage, Buffalo horn, intricately carved spoons. All spoons are in excellent condition. Era approximately 1960's to 1970's. All spoons have been intricately carved with a dragon handle. Sizes and shapes are similar but thickness varies. The largest spoon is 22cms long while the shortest is around 18cms.

Nice antique opium pipe. Hand made, shaped like a horn, appears to be made of nickel silver with copper base and filter. Measures 11+1/2" tall. Smoke stack flange has a modest floral adornment and copper grated filter, pipe consists of 6 sections; mouthpiece, 2 part pipe with ball connection, stack, filter and foot. Foot is soldered on, solder material is evident. Good solid condition. Some surface abrasions, a couple of notable dings. Trace odors and residue, but has been purged with a baking soda solution and soaked in hot soapy water. Otherwise, very attractive and uniquely designed piece for your collection.
