The front has deeply scrolled cabriole legs, each fitted with a leaf-shaped shelf, with a shaped lower shelf. The skirt has a carved shell cartouche. The top is of white statuary marble with nice bevelled curves. The American Rococo Revival style furniture such as this étagère pier table were often found in homes of the Antebellum era. This is a handsome and monumental piece. With the emphasis on graceful line.The leaf-shaped lower shelves are characteristic of New York etageres, which would have been echoed in the multi-shelf arrangement above. Circa 1880 SIZE:The top Measurements are: 47 3/4" wide at back 19" deep The table is 35" tall The marble top is of a lovely bevel and curved shape of fine lightly veined white Carrera style marble that really accents this piece. This beautiful solid walnut table has white marble with grey veins that is ... morebevelled on the edges and is turtle shaped. The graceful cabriole legs have robust grape clusters and leaf carvings on each knee. The legs terminate with an upturned scrolled foot and each foot rests on a caster. In the center of the crossed stretchers is an open bowl. The table is in perfect condition. The marble top has a couple of very faint yellow stains as shown in the photo. I purchased this table in the 1980's in Kentucky. Local pick up or buyer can make arrangements and pay for their own method of shipping.

There is one little chip in the wood(picture ... more8) that doesn't show with the top on. The marble is in great condition for it's age, there are a few little dings or small chips and some light scratches. There is also some stain on the bottom side of the marble. This table is 31" tall and 19" x 27" wide. I could putty in the hole and touch it up if you want.
