I acquired this unusual antique coin purse in the eastern United States. Although I don't know the maker. There is a patent date of Dec. 15 1903 inside the lid near the latch. The lid appears to be a pot metal or pewter affixed to a metal base. I don't think this is silver or silver plate. The design on top is an overlay of Roman coins, and the lid measures approx. 2& 1/4" in diameter. There is a push-button mechanism to open and close the lid, and it holds. The tam-o-shanter styled base measures approx. 2& 3/4" in diameter and is a crocheted, beaded design that almost resembles chainmail. There is a faint perfumed scent to the inside of the change-purse. Overall condition is good, but there are a couple of condition issues that should be noted. 1. Up for bid is this vintage hand beaded purse. I was a collector and not an expert. This one is shell shape. Inside satiny lining. Lining is perfect. White and silver colored beads. This one is has metal hinged hardware and a kiss clasp with a longer chain. I think the chain and the clasp may be silver/ or silver plated. Because it is tarnished like silver and light weight. It sure looks and feels like silver. I did not try to clean it. Not positive of the metal content. Look at the pictures carefully and judge for yourself. 1960s Authentic 100 Ft Beaded Chain Hand Strung Rootbeer Color Great Shape!
This auction is for a throwback to the 60s with this long doorway or room decor 100 ft chain that features rootbeer colored beads of different sizes and shapes that were hand strung and has the bead pattern repeated throughout the chain's length. This great piece is a single string of beaded chain. Similar to the beaded curtains used in doorways, but all in one 100 ft(or more! chain/string. These were used to add to a room's decor and could be used for just about anything. The chain consists of hard root beer colored links with a cord running thru them. The different beads are hand strung to create a pattern, which is seen in the photos. The beads are translucent and allow some light thru, similar to a tortoise shell look. Each type of bead has it's own pattern on it. The chain comes with it's original"Made in Hong Kong" ... morepaper label, although it has deteriorated over the years. Please look at the photos to get a better idea of the true great shape and condition this flashback item is still in. I had some difficulty getting the beads to show up correctly, but the photo of them lying on the darker wood is the closest to their actual color.the other pictures made them seem either too dark or too hard to see. I didn't see any type of damage, although I did see one or two mis-strung beads that deviated from the base pattern of the rest of the beads. The chain is surprisingly heavy, so I recommend flat rate shipping. Payments are accepted using Paypal and Visa/Credit Cards. Cash is accepted for face to face deliveries. There are six marquise shape red rhinestones prong-mounted which are framed with oval pearl beading. They beautiful red rhinestones"pop" against the beige faux pearls. The back side of the clutch bag is covered with dainty pearls with a frame of elongated pearls framing the top band of the bag. The top of the bag has a zipper closure which opens to reveal a satin interior. The interior lining does have a few tiny spots from previous use. There is no tag informing of the origin of this bag. But I do think it is circa 1940's. The zipper opens and closes ... moreeasily. SIZE: This is a dainty Vintage clutch bag measuring approximately 8-1/4" wide and stands approximately 4-1/4" tall.
