The gilt tole frame has a nice aged patina and tiers of delicate branches draped with very unique glass beads. Blue opaline glass drops are dripping from 4 levels and there is a blue opaline bobeche at the bottom. The three candelabra arms have lovely old ribbed clear bobeches which tie in nicely with the original beaded swags. Currently working with e-14 base sockets. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This unique and beautiful clock was made in approximately 1880. It was officially appraised by Mr. Bob Hamm(NAWCC 87134) of The Clock Shoppe. Restoration Professionals, Specializing in Sales and Service" or"Antique Clocks& Watches" and"Rare& Unusual Time Pieces" in Dallas, Texas to be worth $3,500 on September 10, 1993 and is likely worth even more now, twenty years later. The clock has a brass frame with clear beveled glass sides and a beveled glass and bronze door decorated by an outline of the porcelein semi-spherical dots. The door makes it much easier than to get the pendulum in its rigbt position. It has a lovely and resonant chime on the hour. And yet, it has never disturbed my guests' sleep no my own. At 1:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. it chimes once, at 2:00 a.m. or ... more2:00 p.m. it chimes twice, etc. You can listen to a recording I made of the clock's eleven chimes at 11:00 p.m. a few days ago here: The brass key(5 cm by 5 cm by 0.5 cm) used to wind the clock. The original copy of the 1993 appraisal, and the envelope from The Clock Shoppe that contains the appraisal will be included. The bronze pendulum is decorated with many blue half-round dots as the front of the front face face are decorated. To prevent the peendulm to break something while being shipped; I will slide it off and wrap it well separately but in the same box along with my instructions I have written out. Well Marbles is definitely not! he was scared but quickly decided to roll over for a belly rub and purr his little fuzzy head off! Needless to say Marbles could not go back to his colony.
