This is a nice vintage lot of 5 miniature Catholic religious lithograph prints. They are mounted on a wood backing with brass hanging loops attached to the backs for display. These old prints have a great vintage patina and are in good condition with no major flaws apparent. These small plaques measure about 3-3/4 inches by 2-7/8 inches and are about 1/4 inch thick. One measures about 1/8 inch smaller overall. This small group of matching prints would make a great addition to a collection and/or devotional display. Thank you for looking.

This near mint condition wood slice plaque features a litho of Warner Sallman's lovely 1942 painting. Christ at Heart's Door" Warner Sallman was an evangelical Christian painter from Chicago, who's mid-century portrait, Head of Christ" has sold more than 500 million copies. In 1994, the New York Times predicted he'd be voted the"best-known artist of the century" Quite often the bark on these plaques has dried out, faded and fallen off. Not so with this one. The print is still quite vibrant too. This is an extraordinary find- a Madonna and Child wall plaque carved from a solid block of olive( wood with painstaking attention to the smallest details. Particularly the sleeves of Mary's dress and along the edges of her mantle. Very expressive faces- serene, content, at peace. The plaque measures about eight inches tall. About 4-3/4 inches at its widest point. There is a hole drilled in the back of the wood for hanging. The base is just wide enough to prop the piece up at an angle. About 10 x 4 inches, that has The Lord’s Prayer printed on the front, along with some rustic pine cone motifs, and YELLOWSTONE PARK at the bottom. The back has a rawhide hanger This shows only light wear. There seems to be no big scratches or scuffs on it, some edge bark is missing in places. Please look over the pictures. These plaques were created by slicing a real piece of natural wood(from a branch or small tree) at an angle. Creating an oval with an edge of real bark, then gluing an image onto it. This plaque appears to be brass or a brassy material mounted on composite board. And features the Lord's Prayer in Welsh. It measures 8" by 11" and it plain on the back. It's clean, and condition is acceptable, but there are some dark spots on the finish just to the left of the kneeling figure, and a few spots where there appears to be some wear or oxidation. The photo of the back has some shadows in it, but it's actual just one uniform color. This is the only one like this that I've personally come across, so I believe this might be a rare item. Beautiful rendering of"The Last Supper" carved in olive wood. EUC! My late aunt and uncle traveled abroad and they brought this back from a trip to the Middle East. Greece and Italy. I remember them saying it was olive wood and I'm fairly certain it was purchased in Jerusalem. They're both gone and I have no one to verify those facts. The back has marks from being hung and the back is wood composite. There is nick on the back edge which rests against the wall. Can't be seen from the front whenever it's hung. This would benefit from some Scott's Liquid Gold aorund the back edge of the wood composite. To me. The faces definitely appear to be from the Mediterranean area; so, whomever carved this obviously drew upon local facial structures! Weighs approx. 5 1/4 lbs. Measurements are approx. 18 1/4" W x 11 1/8" ... moreL and 1" deep.Looks to have been sealed with polyurethane. Approx. age is 10-15 years old. It looks wonderful. I feel a few rough spots; but. I don't see any damage. Lovely to display year round; with special meaning during the Lent and Easter Seasons. This hung in the family room at my late aunt and uncle's home. I would keep this. But I simply have no room on my walls. Additionally. I have a Framed Copper Crucifix on Copper Background listed. I wrap VERY well; so. Don't worry about packaging!
