Here is a vintage Atha hammer. This is marked with a horseshoe with an A inside of it and MADE IN U.S.A. The marking is faint and hard to read. The hammer measures about 12 1/3" long overall. The head is about 4 1/4" long and the face is 1 1/16" in diameter. The face has a waffle pattern on it. So it may be a framing hammer. Overall, the hammer weighs about 1 lb 8 oz. Add this to your collection or workshop! The logo is faint and is hard to read. The head has dings. Scratches and wear. There is some paint or something in the waffle print on the face. Up for grabs is a pretty unique framing style hammer that has been clened up and mounted on a pretty wicked all hand made hardwood handle.This hammer is approx. 15 inches long and the head is approx. a 20 ozer.To be honest this handle started as another completly different project. But a rather small but dangerous table saw mishap changed the direction of the project and I morphed her into a hammer rather than an axe.Its just that this is a nice piece of wood and it shaped out nice and I couldnt bring myself to just throw her away, so I adapted and overcame the situation and turned her into the hammer you see in the pics.The head on this hammer is in decent shape with no major damage such as cracks, welds, bends or huge chips.I mirror polished the hammer face for added detail but left all of the other age marks in her for added character.I ... moredid not find a makers mark on this head.The handle is made out of one piece of solid Ash and I added finger grooves to her as well, this handle really does just mold to ones hand. I set the head using both wood wedges and epoxy and got a nice tight fit that looks good on both the top and bottom.I sanded the handle silky smooth. Vintage Salvaged Quilt Block "Overall Bill" Re-purpose by framing in baby room?
This vintage quilt block is Overall Bill. This particular fella has a wide brimmed hat and suspenders in a blue. White and tan what I would fondly call a"pajama print" I am no expert on fabric.you may call it otherwise) His tan shirt matches nicely. I will leave the dating of the block up to you. The block is hand appliqued and the border is sewn on by machine. The quilt block shows us the quilt was hand quilted as the boy is outline stitched by hand and the green border is stitched in the ditch by hand. The backing is a darling baby print of a boy sleeping. A girl sleeping, bunnies and teddy bears. The mint greens are great. Take a look at the photos. How wonderful! The block is 12.5" x 14" border to border. The white area is 10.5" x 12.25" and the boy is about 5.5" x 10" I quilt myself and am downsizing ... moresome of my collection of many years. This is a nice collectable"Last Supper" decorative plate. It is gold colored trim. It is encased in a frame of what appears to be brass or a very gold colored bronze. It is very sturdy and is like new condition. Great colorful picture of the last supper.
