Pair Vintage Art Deco Metal Plaques Jesus And Mary Reverse Painted On Glass
This is a very special pair of vintage Art Deco metal plaques of Jesus and Mary with reverse painted glass. They probably date 1930s. Given their classic art deco look. Each piece measures 6 inches(15.24 cm) wide and 3/4 inch(1.9 cm) thick. For the most part. They're not like most plaques. The metal plaques are covered in silverplate. Each plaque is surrounded by a dark blue ribbon. The glass they are behind is reverse painted in gold. Silver glitter, black and light blue. There is a lot of age loss to the light blue outer part of the reverse painting, especially towards the bottom of Jesus(please see photos) They are each surrounded by what is probably a nickel plated metal frame. Each frame has some dings/dents. I think they would polish up nicely, The backs are made of cardboard.
