This is an old 1854 canvas map of the town of Cornwall. Litchfield County, Connecticut. It says- Surveyed and Drawn by L. Fagan, Published by Richard Clark, 42 Moyamensing Road, Philad.a, 1854" Also it says"Friend and Aub. Lith, 80 Walnut st. Ph.a" and"Wagner& McGuigan s Lith. Press, Phil.a" G-VG condition, It is darker towards the top and lighter going down. There is some damage in the form of flaking, which I have tried to picture extensively. Up for sale is this vintage(as in authentic- not a reproduction! 1892 map titled"Engineering News Series of Maps No. 45- Southwestern States. This map shows new railroad track that was laid in 1891 and. To date, in 1892. It also shows land being surveyed for new track and new projects that are anticipated. This map measures around 14 1/4" by 21" This paper is not at all dry or brittle. But is soft and pliable despite its age. As you can see there are small tears along the center of the left-hand and right-hand border. These tears are confined well within the border and no not interfer with the map. There are also a pair of two holes in the center fold where apparently this was stapled at one time, though it wasn't when I received it. This has been laying folded, the way the last picture shows, since it was originally printed, ... morebeing that it was meant to be a fold out chart, and I will ship it to you that same way in order to save you shipping cost. Please note that I tweaked the contrast on the tree cropped close-up pictures whereas the other pictures are"as scanned" at 300 DPI. The publication was undertaken by The Geographical Section. General Staff. at the War Office in 1933. The title is: Sheet Number 77 Island of Arran. The outer size of the map is almost 31" by 38" The actual map surface being 25" by 29" As seen in the photos the map area is in very good condition No tears etc. However it has some very damage on border(see scan) The map will be posted inside a postal tube.
