Up for auction is a super scarce to RARE 1880's patent medicine quack CURE product called SHILOH'S CATARRH REMEDY! This cure was made by the S.C. Wells Company out of Le Roy. N.Y. What makes this example so extra nice and special is the fact that it is complete with the original box. Internal flyer/paperwork, full label on bottle, glass snorting/injector tube, and bottle has most of its original contents- Truly AMAZING Indeed! Check out those fantastic graphics of the well-dressed Victorian lady who is snorting a hit of this magical powder with the special nasal injector which is also present. Great label content on box and on bottle label stating that it is a SPEEDY and POSITIVE CURE for any number of nasal or sinus related complaints. Embossed on the unlabeled side of the bottle is" S.C. WELLS" CO. LEROY. N.Y. The other ... more3 sides do have embossing but all this is covered up by a 3-sided wrap-around paper label. However looks like it probably says SHILOH'S- CATARRH- REMEDY. This great old item came out of a large drugstore accumulation that I will be selling off very soon. Its been in my collection for over 20 years now. I've only seen a handfull of these for sale in over 40 years of collectiing. So, I am considering it quite scarce especially in this fine and complete of condition. Color of bottle is a light bluish aqua. Probably pretty close to 100% of the original white powder contents still remaining inside. Cork is still tightly stuck into the neck of the bottle where its probably been for the last 100 or so years. Height of the bottle is about 2-1/2 inches. Square in shape, 1-1/4 inches per side. Early mold blown. Lots of manufacturing crudity to the glass. Excellent overall condition. Top of lip does have a couple small flakes probably associated with the original opening of this bottle. Box is also in great shape. Reddish orange color is still strong, a couple spots, wear and and scuffs to the box, but not really that bad. Has a flyer inside the box but I haven't attempted to

Battlefield Find from Shiloh! I found these items in 2010 while touring the Battlefield. The Large Cent dates from 1818& the Clipped Dime is a 1853-O w/Arrows. The 3rd piece is the size of a Large Cent. But is unreadable. The Bullet is a"Yankee" 3 Ring Lead.58 Calibur Minie Ball! I agree that this is not much. But it still is Very Interesting because of it's Origin!

RARE Test Piece Hagen Renaker Chestnut Specialty Morgan Shiloh
One of a kind test piece. Hagen Renaker Shiloh, from the Specialty Morgan family. Not to be confused with the chestnut mini Morgan stallion which was made from 1959-73. Shiloh was made from 1998-2000 and was only made in charcoal gray and bay. The numbers under the hooves identify it as a test color. You can tell that the numbers(36 on rear right hoof, 1 on rear left hoof) were marked before it was fired. These numbers designate colors and/or slip used. Thanks to the Hagen Renaker Online Museum in helping me identify this pretty little horse. Beautiful detailing and shading. Measures 2 3/4" tall x 3 1/2" long. No chips. Cracks or repairs. In 1861 the 9th Illinois Infantry responded immediately to the call of President Lincoln, a company commander in the regiment during the Black Hawk War. Many of those who mustered in were German immigrants. The 9th was at Shiloh, Tennessee on April 6, 1862 when the Confederate Army of the Mississippi struck at dawn. Some Union regiments fled in panic as Major General U.S. Grant ordered his division commanders to hold at all costs. Sent to reinforce the Union left, the 9th was told"There is going to be plenty of fighting today; there must be no cowards. South of the Peach Orchard, the regiment was ordered to a tree-choked ravine, and found themselves in ... morea race with Confederates for the same natural barrier. The 9th got there first. Confederate commander Albert Sidney Johnston remarked on the Illinois regiment's stubborn stand" as the 9th Arkansas and 29th Tennessee joined the fight. Finally, renewed attacks collapsed the 12th and 15th Illinois on the 9th's flanks and with their dead and wounded thick on the ground, the regiment had to withdraw. The 9th suffered 103 killed and 258 wounded on Shiloh's first day, one of the highest totals of the entire Civil War. Their 90-minute stand helped save Grant's left, and prepared the way for the great Union Counterattack the next day. 1862 Letter Battle of Shiloh Bloodshed Many Killed OVI Soldier Died a Month Later in Mississippi This is a wonderful 4 page letter from April 20. 1862 from Camp Shiloh, Pittsburgh Landing. It is from David C West who would die from sickness just a month later in Corinth. Mississippi. The letter is written on patriotic letterhead printed by Mumford and Co in Cincinnati, Ohio and has a large eagle on it. He was a member of Co F, 53 rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry and it says in part, I know I was in front of the battle and was not killed but may be the next one. I saw many men killed many wounded. Many horses killed, O I saw bloodshed more than I want to see again. O pray that you may stop this rebellion. There was only 2 killed in our co some 4 or 5 wounded. Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnson. In 1837. Albert Sidney Johnston survived a duel against Texas Brigadier General Felix Huston. Unfortunately, the effects of his wound probably contributed to his death at the Battle of Shiloh in 1862. Johnston has the unfortunate distinction of being the highest ranking general– on either side– killed during the Civil War. Johnston already had an eventful military career by the time his home state seceded from the Union. He fought in the Black Hawk War. The Texas Revolution, and the Mexican-American War, and in actions ... moreagainst the Mormons in Utah and Native Americans in northern Texas. On December 21. 1860, Johnston took command of the Department of the Pacific. He resigned on April 9, 1861, when his home state of Texas seceded from the Union. He arrived in Richmond in September, and his long-time friend, Jefferson Davis, made him a full general and commander of the Western Department. 3 National Park Service Civil War Battlefield Pamphlets Antietam Shiloh Manassas
This is a lot of three(3) Civil War Battlefield Pamphlets from 1961. They measure approx. 6" x 9" The pamphlets included are. Antietam, Shiloh, and"Manassas(Bull Run) They were published by the National Park Service. These pamphlets would make an awesome addition to any library or Civil War collection. And would make a great gift, too! The pictures above show the condition of the actual items you will receive, as I don't use stock photography. The covers show their age, and there are some dog-ears, waviness, and a few small tears. While I have done my best to accurately describe these pamphlets. Please keep in mind that antiques and vintage items inevitably show their age in many ways. which just adds to their beauty! I will very carefully ship these pamphlets to you via USPS Media Mail.
