Very nice real photo postcard of Quincy California- Eastman's Studio B-9101. Card is unused. The stamp box indicates this card is from 1950- present. But was among a number of vintage cards, so I'm guessing it is from the 1950s or 1960s. Card has a white border and a divided back. Qunicy is the county seat of Plumas County. CA. In some cases there may be a label on the reverse side which is not shown. This is a vintage chrome era post card. Postally unused, circa 1950s- 1970s. Caption reads- Lake Almanor. Calif. Card publisher is- Eastman's Studio. The overall condition is as seen; always check corners and edges for possible wear(see scans) As grading is subjective. Please look at scan for faults/defects. They were launched by the Union Oil Company in their western gasoline service stations in 1939 as"giveaways" And soon after these"Chrome" postcards ... morestarted to dominate the scene. Their advent coincided with a new age of mobility in the country and a quickly burgeoning band of"travelers" These postcards document the building of America's new highway infra-structure and the roadside(motels, restaurants, etc) establishments built to cater to this group were quick to seek the cheap advertising and the opportunity presented by these shiny eye-catchers. They were easily produced. Of high photo quality and most importantly, they were in color. They competed with both linen and black& white postcards in the 1940's and began to dominate both in the roadside postcard racks and in people's hearts by the mid-1950's. The postcard view is now highly sought after by many institutions and individuals. As it serves as a historical record of the past. Be it the view of a town main street, the local church, school, roadside attraction or the countryside, the post card mirrors the way our parents, grandparents and even we, once lived.
