This amazing spoon has been beautifully decorated with a central tear shape panel filled with some of the most exquisite enameling I have seen. Rich turquoise in color with incredible depth and patterns through the enamel. Highlighted with wonderful scrolling silver filled with deep purple enamel. The outside edge has stunning floral and scrolling designs. Each flower and leaf edged with tiny bead work. The edge has a frame of lovely deep cobalt blue enamel. The handle has enamel panels of cobalt blue, lilac and emerald green leading to further enamel scrolling and a further turquoise and purple enameled tip. Here you have an Antique Enameled Russian Silver Cup. Made in 19th C by Antip Kuzmichev for Tiffany& Co. The cup is molded in a"pulled lobe" design. It is richly enameled with bands of patterns in light blue, cobalt, red, and white. There is an inscription in Cyrillic around the rim in red enamel letters. The rim of the foot and the underside is marked. The underside also has an assay mark from 1893. Condition: Light tarnishing to silver. But otherwise very good. Worldwide bidders are welcome. Judaica 88 Silver Russian Enamel Plique a jour Kiddush Cup by Antip Kuzmichev NR
Judaica Gilt Silver Plique a jour Kiddush Cup of the Imperial Czarist Russian era by Antip Kuzmichev in Moscow circa 1880’s. Cup is hallmarked on the side and bottom with the royal warrant mark and the maker’s AK hallmark. The side hallmark also includes the 88 zolotnick mark for a silver purity assay of 91.7% pure silver. Cup is in fantastic condition for its age with no dings. Dents, bends, breaks, or cracks to the highly hand engraved gilt silver. The glass portions have only tiny cracks or chips on a couple of small red panes. Which may very well have been original to the piece, as one small red pane has a crack which follows the seam of the cup, and another shows chipping but no damage to the surrounding metal. They are both shown in picture close-ups. They are not loose nor do they leak. Some of the other pieces of glass have tiny bubbles ... moreor wispy inclusions. They are not very noticeable without a jeweler’s loop. The gilt on the top of the bottom base looks to be wearing slightly in spots. Other than these small issues the cup is in fantastic shape and has a beautiful array of rainbow colors. Yellows. Greens, blues, reds, and purples, they all let the light shine through. When held to the light and tipped up. It is like drinking from a stained glass window with the Star of David at the center. The cup measures about 3 ¼ inches tall by about 2 1/8 inches wide. And weighs about 124 grams. The Star of David is stealthy hidden on the bottom and unseen when filled with a semi opaque liquid like wine. Judaism was much oppressed in Russia at the time this cup was made. And especially so in Moscow where only useful Jews, according to the rulers of the time, were allowed to live. A cup like this would have been used to remember and cherish the Jewish tradition while hiding in plain sight of possible nosey visitors. This is a beautifully made piece of antique Russian Judaica. Measures 6 3/4" long(tip of handle to tip of handle) x 4 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" height(to top of finial) and weighs 390 grams. The finial is carved in the form of a nut and the handles look like branches. The top half of the box shows a crisp raised Aesthetic decoration. The box is in good condition with a small ding on front near the bottom. There are also some dings on the outer edge of the base. The gold washed interior is very clean with no stains or gold loss. This beautiful box decorated with a scrolling foliate and floral design in mufti-color painted enamel against a gilded stippled ground. Please see detailed photos. The base and top lid are hallmarked with'88' Imperial Russian Silver standard next to'Moscow' mark and'AK' in Cyrillic maker's mark for Antip Kuzmichev, dated 1895. Antique 19th C Enameled 88 Russian Silver Cup Antip Kuzmichev Rare
Antique Enameled Russian Silver Cup. Made in 19th C by Antip Kuzmichev for Tiffany& Co. The cup is molded in a"pulled lobe" design. It is richly enameled with bands of patterns in light blue, cobalt, red, and white. There is an inscription in Cyrillic around the rim in red enamel letters. The rim of the foot and the underside is marked. Condition: Light tarnishing to silver. But otherwise very good. I can ship worldwide.
