It measures 8 1/2 inches tall(lid included in measurement approx. by 10 inches wide. As quoted from an original Williamsburg Reproduction catalog: An eighteenth-century antique teapot made in London by Samuel Ellis inspired this distinctive adaptation. The original, somewhat smaller teapot, is now displayed at the Raleigh Tavern" It appears rarely if ever used- no dents, dings, heavy scratches or other damage. Has been sitting in the hutch closet. Vintage Colonial Williamsburg Brass Cypher Trivet, CW/0-14, 1950
I believe that this Williamsburg Cypher trivet was made by the Virginia Metalcrafters. It has a copyright date of 1950 on it and a part number of CW/0-14. It was found at an estate sale in Colorado Springs. The trivet has a buildup of old brass polish residue on its sides and edges. Someone must have really loved to polish it. I'm sure that it can be cleaned off with a brush and cleaning agent. The trivet is approximately 6 inches in diameter. and weighs 13 ounces. The Magazine was built by order of Governor Alexander Spotswood in 1715. It was built for storage of munitions in times of conflict. Spotswood himself was responsible for the design. A surprisingly graceful octagonal structure, given its function. As a work of art these prints are worth purchasing in their own right. Harvin Brass Colonial Williamsburg Cannonball Andirons
Set of brass cannonball andirons manufactured by The Harvin Co. It is my understanding that Harvin made these for Virginia Metalcrafters and Colonial Williamsburg and are a reproduction of an 18th century design called Hampton. Andirons do show signs of use as there are some scratches and discoloration. Especially on the back closest to the cast iron legs. Overall they are in good condition and look beautiful. The spoon is clearly marked STERLING and has the manufacturer's mark for the Manchester Silver Co. of Providence, RI. Condition: Excellent! There are no dings or bends. Any dark or overly bright spots are reflections from the camera or the lights and are not on the spoon. The bas-relief(embossed) handle begins a bas-relief portrait of an American eagle with its wings open and meeting above its head. The piece is finely crafted after an original Queen Anne 1720 design from mahogany with a burl top and mahogany banding. Boxwood inlay and a burl apron. A single cabriole leg supports the table which consists of a triangular top and a serpentine front. The leg features a gorgeous carved shell. The table is fitted for(6) screws that anchor the piece to the wall. Kittinger spares no detail; including the dovetail construction at the back of the table. Although the pictures make it appear as if the top is faded, the color striation is a color variance in the burl veneer top. Noted Virginia jurist, moved a small eighteenth century one and one-half story house from the east side of the palace green in Williamsburg, Virginia, to its present site, and greatly enlarged it to its present size, between 1788 and 1796. Many of the building and finishing accounts survive in the family papers. The house is owned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and was restored in 1931. The wood framed house over a brick raised basement centers around a 2 story section with lateral wings on either side. The first floor has 4 principal rooms. A kitchen wing and a bedroom suite.
