Lot of 5 Colonial Williamsburg pieces. Three pieces were made by Homer Laughlin for the Williamsburg Inn. Two condiment cups and a dish they used for sugar packets. Gee, I'm not sure how I acquired these. The two tiles were purchased in the Colonial Area in one of the Historic shops. Probably Tarpley's. They are old I'm not sure if they still make them. One of the cups has two hairline cracks. And there is a small chip on one of the hairlines. I've shown this in the last two photos, it's hard to see so please enlarge. The tiles are 5" square. VINTAGE COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG VA. SHIRLEY PEWTER SERVING SPPON
I very nice Pewter Spoon in very good condition. The spoon was made at the Shirley Pewter Manufacturer of Williamsburg Virginia. It is 7 7/8" long and 1 3/4" wide at the spoon and the spoon is 3" long. I am not 100% sure but my guess is that the spoon was made in the late 50's to early 60's. The back of the handle is marked"Shirley Handmade" there are no other marks on it. The back side of the spoon area does have a raised ridge running from the end of the handle through 3/4 of the length of the spoon piece. A great little piece of handmade Pewter. I'm selling some items from my Aunt's estate so I don't know everything about them. If I've missed something you are interested in. Please ask. I want your bid. This auction is for a reproduction of an 18 th century wine rinser in the Colonial Williamsburg collection. It was hand blown by Royal Leerdam in Holland and has a smoothed pontil on the bottom. It is a little over 4” tall and 5.5” spout to spout. In colonial times. Diners used this bowl to rinse their wine glasses between courses but can be used as a finger bowl or for ice, desserts, nuts or flowers. The color is amethyst and it is truly beautiful with light behind it. It is beautifully made and in excellent condition and still has its original label. Height 28 3/4" Width 34 3/4" KITTINGER was the chief furniture reproductions maker for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. This table was sold from the home of the Williamsburg Reproductions Program. The Craft House. This program reproduced furniture equal to the quality of the original pieces, done to museum standards. This very desirable piece has not been refinished. The table top is beautiful and in good condition. As you would find with any older piece of furniture. It has normal wear(some fading, light scratches, small dings) I am not a company or an antique dealer. I acquired the piece and it is in my home. I am not an expert on finish or condition but I can tell you it is stunning and I would never in my wildest dreams think it would need any work done to it. I have tried to capture the table as accurately as possible ... morein the photos. The table would have to be shipped via freight. Kittinger Furniture, Baker Furniture, Virginia Metalcrafters, Mottahedeh, Baldwin Brass, Waterford and Stieff Pewter. Up for auction is a wonderful and outstanding VERY LONG runner. It is called USHAK HALL RUNNER, style number 552. And was made by the Karastan Rug Company of North Carolina. This runner was made for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Is no longer produced by Karastan or sold by Colonial Williamsburg and is fairly hard to find. It is 100% worsted wool. Permanently mothproof and was made in the USA. The Turkish Ushak runner features typically Ushak starforms. As well as cloudbands and rosettes. The ... morerug features varying hues of gold. Brick, red and deep blue. Karastan stylists used these different individual colors to reproduce the antiqued and uneven dyeing pattern of a hand-woven oriental rug. The overall measurements of this rug are 2 feet 6 inches wide and 19 feet 4 inches long with the fringe. This runner was a custom piece of two 2' 6" by 12' runners placed together for a stair case. It has an thick pile with no tears. Rips, smells, odors or stains. It shows some unevenness from side to side which are where the brass stair rods were located on each step on top of the runner. The fringe and binding are in great vintage condition. It has one of the original Karastan/Colonial Williamsburg labels along with the cleaning label. This rug would work well with your Colonial Williamsburg reproduction and restoration items and look handsome with your fine furniture from such great makers as Biggs. Baker.
