This exquisite. Unique statue is an impressive 11 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches at the base. It belonged to my husband's grandmother, who came to America from Poland in 1904. Up for bid is a handmade/homemade Log Cabin. This is well built and heavy. It weighs over 4 pounds and measures app. 12 inches long by 8 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches wide. I am not sure of the type of wood this is made from. But as you can see in the pictures, each"log" and each"shingle" have been carefully fitted to the appropriate size. Made by the bohemian glass manufacture Loetz from Klostermühle around 1920. Somewhere in the 1920-1930 period. The glass is transparent with orange-crimson expressive splatters. Polished pontil marks the bottom.The pictures hardly do it justice. Appreciators know that LOETZ glass is something else live- the way light permeats the light and hand-made color. Height 15 c m/6cm at neck/5cm bottom. 100% original. Perfect. Completely mint condition of glass. This Loetz glass is part of a private collection. Gathered over 40 years. This particular Loetz jug is interesting, and rare for its kind due to its large size. And difficult technique. A bit more about the origin of the glass: The Famos Bohemian glass manufacturer Loetz widow. Klostermühle in sub-Reichenstein(Klastersky Mlyn, Czech Republic) was founded in 1836 by Johann Eisner von Eisenstein, 1851/52 by Susan Gerstner Loetz acquired and inherited in 1878 at her grandson Max Ritter von Spaun, who under the name Johann Loetz Widow the company further led. Under Edward Spaun, Prochazka worked as director of the factory, and led to international success. 1902-15 many glasses were made from designs by famous artists. Pursuing their work include Michael Powolny, Koloman Moser, Marie Kirschner, Mary Wilfert-Waltl, Hofstätter Franz Josef Hoffmann, Otto Prutscher and C. Witzmann for the factory. The company has participated in many exhibitions and won numerous awards including the Grand Prix at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900.
