Rare 1778 American Revolution Calendar Medal This is a very tough year to find for these calendar medals. As it is the year in which American Revolutionary War was in its full swing. In addition, this one is a French Louis XVI piece. This is the year when the French decided to take on the British. When the Americans won the battle of Saratoga in 1777, French became gung-ho and joined the American cause. This one is struck in brass composition and measures 39mm. As you can see, this one is very attractive and is in high grade.
