It is very cleverly made with a type of natural material that has been woven together to make the front and back and is bound together with the same natural material and has a small stick to help hold the binding together. It shows a little wear on the ends of the spine. But is still in very good condfition. It is very cleverly made. It has 20 pages, with each page having a white piece of paper between them to protect the pictures and having a place to hold each photo with the same material making four corners to hold the 4" x 6" photo in place. Using the front and back of each page, the album will hold 20 pictures. Wonderful Post World War II Era Photo Album from Saipan Marianas Island features approximately eighty(80) 8x10 Black and White Photographs of Circus Beach and the surrounding island. Most of the photos are separated with tissue paper. Are three hole punched and tied to an clear acrylic back and cover. Subject matter includes landscape. Agriculture and various flora and fauna, buildings and other architecture, portraits or native people(Chamorra and Kanaka) several portraits of naval ships presumably American seabees who are seen leading livestock off ships, military cemetery and much more. Circus Beach was the scene of a major three week battle during World War II in which US forces secured the island from the Japanese. The outside of the box has a few marks on it but nothing that takes away from its quaint'ness. I am a professional wedding photographer and I purchased this album new in 2008 when I first started shooting weddings. I intentionally never permanently secured my photos into the album because I planned to remove them and update them as my portfolio grew. I sold these albums for about a year and then moved on to a custom album manufacturer. and this album has lived in it's box ever since. It is a lovely album. Very large and the best part about is in my opinion is that you do not need to use additional matting to mount the photos. With digital ... moreimages you can create your own multi photo design layout on one individual 12x12 print to include multiple images on a page rather than using the old"two squares and a circle" slip in mat. I believe 12x12 is also a popular scrap booking size so if that's your thing then you could also use this as a high end scrap book. There are 15 pages with metal tips on the corners for a grand total of 30 image spaces. I never had the album imprinted with my name or anything so the inside and outside cover is exactly how it comes new. I have the original storage box as well. I paid well over $200 for this when I purchased it and it is still in like new condition. I removed my prints from the book so you have a clean slate to work with. The main reason when I was first starting out that I went with this 12x12 size(to be completely honest) is because Costco does 12x12 prints and I did not have access to a professional photo lab yet. Offered is this wonderful old Victorian photo album. The back is a green velvet which is a little faded on the narrow side. On the front is a lovely celluloid farmhouse scene. The interior has thick board pages with gilt edges and design. It hold 18 photos. The photo openings are 2 X 3 1/4" Included are 2 wonderful photos. one of a young girl and a goat- the other is of two young girls with stylish hats. There is some damage to the interior back spine. The silver-tone metal clasp and hinges are in good working condition. The album measures 4" wide X 5" tall X 1 3/8" thick. See photos and feel free to ask questions. Antique 19th Century Photo Album (mid-1800) Brown Leather Bound w 27 Photos Iowa
You are bidding on a unique mid-19thvcentury photo album featuring 27 family photographs. These are not tin types but a heavier paper stock. Twenty-six of the 27 measure about 4 inches long by 2.5 inches wide. These photos appear to be of a family from Pella. Iowa, as several are printed that way in a bottom corner. Renvers& Gesman is also printed on many of these. I would guess that is the photo company. If I had to guess. I would say this album is from the 1870s to 1880s based on the apparel and style of the people pictured. There are several photos of children. Including a couple of babies, as you'll see in the photos. The album itself is a brown leather. The binding is in very good shape and has held up tremendously after all these years. This is an antique cloth and metal photo album. There are a total of 58 pictures in the album and 14 loose photos that will be included in your purchase. The approxamate size is as follows: 11 1/2" length by 8 1/2" width and about 3" thick. In my opinion the album is in fair condition considering its age etc. I am not an expert at selling or rating something like this so your opinion will be either better or worse. I am selling this in"as is condition" Your satisfaction and a good rating is important to me so please ask questions before you bid. The cloth cover on the album is torn on all edges and sides. The metel is pitted, rusty, stained, and dirty. I did absolutely no cleaning of this album. The album pages have tears, roughed up edges etc. The good news is that all 17 of the pages seem to be intact and open freely. ... moreThe clasp that holds the album shut is intact but i am not sure of exactly how it is supposed to work, it may or may not be damaged and not closing correctly. The photos in the album in my opinion are in fairly decent shape considring the age etc. However. Most of them have some imperfections. There are bent edges, tears, dirty, discoloration due to age, frayed edges etc. Again, they are sold in"as is" condition. There are both tin/metal photo's and paper/cardboard(the majority) The age of the photos and this photo album are unknown. I assume they are origionals and that they are all pre 1950. Antique photo album dated 1871 filled with 50 sepia tone and black& white photos. Some of the names include Grandma Hunter. David Hunter, Mary Helen Hunter, Miss Mary Hunter, Charles Stevens, Abby Cobb, Mary Stevens, Cudworth, Ella Shepardson and Samuel Frederick Stevens. Other notable names are Ed Willing, purser for the Pacific Mail Steamship Company and two Pass Conductors for the Troy Boston Railroad named Clark and Hawley(first name) Geographical reference is made to Troy,N.Y. Bennington, Vt. and Montague, Ma. As you can see there is some separation between the spine and binding but this antique estate piece is very much intact. This attractive piece has brass hardware, tooled gilt edging on the pages and measures 2 x 5 x 6 inches. AKA-54) Included in the auction is a photo album with 178 photos. There are numerous photos of the sailor and his friends, ships, San Francisco and Japan. Some of the pictures are loose and have fallen out of their corner holders and there appears to be 4 or 5 missing photos but overall the album is very complete. Great set of photo album pages from a pre-WII US Naval Academy grad. Edward Olcott, the yearbook photographer during his time there. Photos are from 1936-39 and included anything related to life at the Naval Academy. Photos include ships( USS Texas, Wyoming, Arkansas and Oklahoma- destroyed at Pearl Harbor) early naval aircraft, future Silver Star recipients, the Ring Dance, two summer cruises to Europe, graduation, Admiral Wilson Brown(Superintendant, Navy Cross recipient and advisor to FDR) and staff. More than 400 photos(ranging from yearbook proofs to 8x10s) two signed photos from the Folies Bergeres, photographer passes, shipboard newsletters and notices, Christmas cards and an original pen and ink drawing of the Old Goat by Paul de Leslie. Lot of 10 Vintage Photos In Paper Album 1940s-1950s
I purchased a very large lot of vintage photographs that originated from California. I will have several lots of photos and single photos from this purchase listed with various subject matter. Some of the photos in the lot had hand written dates ranging from 1934-1951. And some were dictated with names and Colorado Springs. I do believe based on all of the info all of the photos were taken out west. This paper photo album was in the lot. It measures about 4.5 by 4 inches. All of the images inside are black and white and I believe were taken in the late 1940's to early 1950's. The subject matter in the photos vary. There are two photos with a city scene(see pic 1-2) One of the buildings has a sign that says Sequoia Motel, and one that I think says Cottschalks( see pic 1) There are several photos that were taken at a high school football ... moregame(see pics 3-6 and 10) There are also two photos taken at a lumber company(see pics 8-9) One photo you can clearly see Valley Lumber Company(see pic 9) One photo I'm not sure where it was taken, in a garage maybe. Antique 1860s 1870s CDV Photograph Album 44 Photos Boy & Violin Children Fashion
Antique CDV photograph album dating from the 1860s into the 1870s. Album measures about 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inches and contains by my count 44 photographs(four of them are tintypes) The album cover has some wear on corners and edges and high points. The metal clasp shaped like a ribbon is in good condition. Album contains about 50 pages(25 cardboard sheets) Interior pages have some light overall soiling and stains from fingerprints and handling. I don't see any tears on the photo pages. One front blank fly leaf has some soiling and edge chips. Most photos are good. The two photos that I see that have small brown stains on or near them are the two young girls that you can see in my photos. Album was found in New Hampshire. But some of the backs of photos are visible- four from New Jersey and one from Penn. There are some nice photos of children ... morein album, including the one of the boy with the violin. Antique 1860s 1870s CDV Photograph Album. Nice Condition 38 Photos (4 Tintypes).
Antique mid nineteenth century CDV album. Album measures about 6 X 4 3/4 inches. Outside covers are quite clean with only some light wear on the bottom of the spine. Clasps are good and working. Clasps are shaped like ribbons. Front and back covers have white porcelain buttons and nice gilt embossed designs. Interior pages have some soiling from fingerprints. And other mostly light stains, but ranging to moderate stains on a few pages. One page has a glued tear on the paper below the photo. I have not removed any photos to ID the backs. The backs of two photos are visible. One with 2 cent Washington stamp(I believe these date from around 1862 to 1870s) The photographer is I. G. Owen, Newton, N.J. Most photos are CDVs. Small Victorian Family Album with 49 Photos including 1 Colour - 18cm x 14cm
Victorian Family Album The album comes in black leather with a metal clasp and gilt fore-edges. Both covers are rubbed and chipped with some marks. One metal clasp is missing otherwise the album shuts nice and tight. There is wear on all the edges including the four corners. The spine is rubbed and chipped but fully intact. The inside is in very good condition. There are handling marks but not one insert that holds the photos is damaged. Quite remarkable considering how fragile they are. The album is full and is just missing one photo There is 49 pictures to look at below including one colour which I have taken a picture of everyone. This is an album of very interesting photos titled"Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Communication System" These names appear on the cover: O.R. Dunham and Brokaw. Dixon, Garner& McKee Engineers. There are 83 early 1930's photos showing workers setting poles in Texas and Kansas using machinery such as a FWD Hole Digger Machine and a Caterpillar Digger. One caption says Sagging Wires with Eveners. There are 6 photos in the album that are pictures in Washington DC and elsewhere. Many of the photos have captions. Many do not have captions. I found no dates on any of them, but I am pretty sure from the cars and trucks that it is early 1930's. FYI: Panhandle Eastern was formed in 1930 according to what I could find on-line. The captions on the photos mention these locations: Hansford Co. Texas. Arkansas River Crossing in Kansas, ... moreCanadian River Valley in Texas, Osage River, and#88 Highway in Texas. Some photos show a pick-up truck being used with a Panhandle Eastern triangle logo on the door. Three photos show what appears to be the same truck after it was in a wreck with damage to the front and sides. The logo is small in the photos but can be read with a magnifying glass. There are several photos of what appear to be a small town that was hit by a tornado or some other storm. Showing people and damage to buildings. The photos are fixed in the album with the small corner hinges. Therefore the photos will come out easily. Quite a few photos were removed from the album over the years by previous owners. This English heirloom from the 19 th century was obviously owned by a family of means. It houses 96 original photographs from the era(some shown in photos) The edging of each page is gold gilt.
