For Your Bidding Consideration: A Beautiful Vintage LAST RITES CRUCIFIX! Fresh out of an estate! If I were to guesstimate the age. In my opinion from the late 1950's ~ early 1960's. Nice quality solid wood. Has a very pretty mother of pearl inlay. Christ appears to be solid brass. With lovely brass accents! Comes with two candles, which appear to be unused. Measures 13" 1/2 x 7" 1/2" x 2" 1/4" An outstanding Catholic Crucifix, in my opinion. The photographs really do not do justice to this lovely piece, much more appreciative in person, I can assure you! No disappointments with this pretty religious treasure! Would make an excellent gift for that special person in your life, that happens to be a Roman Catholic!

This is a n Early 1900's copper wall crucifix with copper corpus. This very old crucifix measures slightly over 10 1/8 inches tall and slightly under 6" inches across and 3/4 inches in depth. Not including corpus. It is very heavy. Being made of metal. Interior is marked U.S. PAT NO 1909249& CANADA PAT NO 337748. Back cover and locking wheel are not made of copper. It is in very good condition with no visible repairs. Just a very slight hairline crack where the previous owner overtightened on back. Shipping to within USA is 19.99. While it's a beautiful piece of art for any home, it most likely would hang in a Catholic home where it would always be available if needed during a priest's visit to someone's sickbed. The front crucifix piece is attached to the back cross with a snap(see second last photo) The back piece is made to contain a bottle for holy water, two beeswax candles, and a folded paper instruction sheet. Vintage Wooden Wall Crucifix Sick Call Last Rites Cross Holy Water Bottle Candle
This Last Rites/Sick Call Crucifix for the wall is pretty nice. Not the oldest I've ever owned. But I think it has some age to it. It's just over 13" tall and inside is the Holy Water Bottle and 2 candles(one of which is bent probably from heat) The glass bottle has a rainbow/carnival glass irredescence to it when you hold it in the light, and looks like the old glass, especially at the bottom. There is a 7, then a circle mark with FF? inside in script and 1480. I don't know if that helps to date this or not, and it's difficult to make out very well. This vintage sick room crucifix has the candles. Holy oil, cloth, and directions/prayers still wrapped in the original celophaine. The cross is of solid wood with"pockets" carved for storage of the items noted above, two holes for the candles to stand when being used, and a third hole for the crucifix to stand vertically when in use or for display. The finish of the wood does show some wear; on the top. Flat surface of the crucifix the gold colored decorative lines are worn away in areas along the legs and continuing down toward the bottom. There is an area on the left side where the wood is a bit discolored. The"INRI" at the top is a metal piece that is firmly attached. The metal Jesus is firmly attached. The finish of the gold-tone paint is worn. The top piece of the cross slides pretty freely to be removed and can then ... morebe placed to stand vertically. The holes for the candles are surrounded by metal pieces that were also gold-toned, now aged and darkened. The wrapped packet of candles. Tiny glass holy oil bottle, cloth, and paper instructions has not been opened but an area(about and inch in length and a little smaller in width) of the wrap where the candles and cap meet is missing. The oil has slowly leaked out over the years and the cloth and back of the wrap is yellowed. Given my description to bring these details to your attention, this is a nice vintage religious relic. Vintage 1960's Catholic Walnut Wall Crucifix Last Rites Priest Sick Call Kit and Wall Hanging Set was used by a priest for use in anointing the sick and for last rites. The crucifix was also meant to be used as a wall hanging. This particular crucifix was given to an ailing parishioner in the New Haven. Connecticut area in the 1960s. The crucifix measures approximately 13 1/2 inches high and 7 1/2 inches wide. It is made with walnut wood with front panel pieces made of faux mother of pearl. Trim pieces and the statuary of Jesus are polished metal. When the top section of the crucifix is removed. The base has a compartment. The faux mother of pearl has started to slightly curve up due to typical aging. The wood has about five few very minor scuffs and dents(less than 1/8 inch long for each) Overall. This is a beautiful crucifix set and would work wonderfully as a wall hanging or part of a home prayer altar.

Hello.up for your bidding is a very nice estate find of vintage Catholic history: a Vintage Solid Wood Catholic Last Rites Divinity Sick Call Cross Crucifix w/ original Box. This is an estate find from Detroit. MI. The cross measures: 14" in length 8.5" in width. The cross itself is highly detailed metal and it slides to expose the candles(which can be placed in holes for burning) and a vial for Holy water. It is made of Maple and has a M with a cross on the sticker on the back. The inside of the box is in nice shape and there is no damage from the outside stains.
