Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Very unique piece. Just lots of writing and symbols on it that I can't even start to figure out their relevance to one another. When I first saw it. I thought it was some sort of Family Tree piece. There are the names of"John" and"Emma" near the top. Below that is"Mother" and"Father" In between them is the Masonic symbol. Then in the bottom, near the corners are the names of"Will" and"John" their sons. I do not see the last name of the family on the piece. I think ... morethe last name probably began with a"K" from what I see at the top of the piece. The top of the piece says. Philadelphia of Horology, Phila, PA" At the bottom of the piece its says, Engraved by Bruce H. Herrs, Roxborough, PA, 1931" The intricacy of all the symbols and detailing on the piece is just very eye-catching. Every time I look at it I end up seeing something else I did not see the last time. The etched metal piece then has the state symbol for California with the word"Eureka" in it and then"California" across it. The glass over the piece is intact. No cracking or blistering. The black enameled wood frame is also in good shape. Piece is loose from the back and needs to be reset in existing frame and/or matted in a new frame. Somebody probably pulled it apart to see if the plate is silver. I see no marking on it to that effect. So just a nice silver plate sheet of metal here.
