First Class Relic + Saint John Neumann + Silver Locket Reliquary This is an amazing relic! The reliquary itself appears to be some kind of silver. It is a locket reliquary. But still very fitting to hold this relic. The reliquary is round with a diameter of 3/4 of an inch. There is a nice round hook to attach to a necklace or cross or to hang in any way. The relic comes out of the locket, in case there is a need to place in another reliquary. The glass on the front is in great condition. The relic is placed on a star shaped white piece of linen and surrounded by red fabric. On the back of the relic is the detailed wax seal and red threads. The wax seal clearly shows the shield of the Redemptorists. The detail in the wax seal and the condition of the wax and threads is incredible! The relic is identified as"S. Jo. It was given to my uncle by the priest curator at St. John Neumann's shrine in Philadelphia during the 41st Eucharistic Congress held in Philadelphia in 1976. Antique French 1st Class Saint Relic Collection 19th c.
I have an antique French collection of saint relics c. 19th century. It is likely from the 1870s-1890s because of the presence of the St. Philomena who was widely venerated at this time. The collection has St. Mary Magdalaine. St. Francis, St. Reparata, St. Philomena, St. Colombe, st. Prarede, and another I cannot read because it's in French. The case and inner relics are in good condition however the strings have been damaged from the case being improperly opened or closed over the years. there also small dent to the back of the case. There is also a beautiful embroderie of a rose in the center.

GESU. reverse holds second class relic(piece of clothing) under bezel-set window and reads" CDF( Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) RELIQUA ITALY. approx. 5/8 in. diam. good condition, comes in pouch. Therese Martin was the last of nine children born to Louis and Zelie Martin on January 2. 1873, in Alencon, France. However, only five of these children lived to reach adulthood. Precocious and sensitive, Therese needed much attention. Her mother died when she was 4 years old. As a result, her father and sisters babied young Therese. She had a spirit that wanted everything. At the age of 14. On Christmas Eve in 1886, Therese had a conversion that transformed ... moreher life. From then on, her powerful energy and sensitive spirit were turned toward love, instead of keeping herself happy. At 15, she entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux to give her whole life to God. She took the religious name Sister Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face. Living a hidden, simple life of prayer, she was gifted with great intimacy with God. Through sickness and dark nights of doubt and fear, she remained faithful to God, rooted in His merciful love. After a long struggle with tuberculosis, she died on September 30, 1897, at the age of 24. Her last words were the story of her life: My God, I love You! The world came to know Therese through her autobiography. Story of a Soul. She described her life as a"little way of spiritual childhood. She lived each day with an unshakable confidence in God's love. What matters in life. she wrote, is not great deeds, but great love. St. Anne de Beaupre& the Child Mary in St.Anne's arms. Is here in this 3rd class medal relic which has been touched to the relics of St.Anne. The medal is silver washed brass& it is 3/4" with the bale. The medal is one of the nicest one's that I have seen except for the very very high priced relics, which are usually given with a certificate of authenticity, or not. Good Luck!
