ANTIQUE CATHOLIC RELIC FIRST CLASS ST. FRANCIS AND ST. CLARE OF ASSISI *RARE*
UP FOR AUCTION A VERY OLD AND EXTREMELY RARE FIRST CLASS RELIQUARY OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI AND ST. CLARE OF ASSISI. VIRGIN. IT IS VERY RARE TO HAVE THESE TWO VENERABLE SAINTS TOGETHER. WE HAVE ADDED SOME HISTORY OF THESE SAINTS: Stories about St. Francis and St. Clare are plentiful. Who has not heard of Francis preaching to hundreds of birds about being thankful to God for their wonderful clothes. For their independence, and for God’s care for them? The story tells us the birds stood still as he walked among them, only flying off when he said they could leave. It was often reported that wild animals– rabbits, birds, even a wolf– became tame before Francis. Or early in his conversion, the experience of Francis’ encounter with a leper he met on the road? Though having a great aversion to the lepers, Francis was led to embrace the leper and ... moresought to minister to this marginalized community. And of Clare, who as her convent was about to be attacked, prayed before the Blessed Sacrament, forcing the attackers to flee? Possibly the greatest heritage Francis and Clare leave for us is a deeply rooted desire for God. A fervent commitment to prayer, and a life that generates action. Today one and a half million Franciscans live throughout the world in many groups belonging to the three Orders– the Friars Minor, the Poor Clares, and the Third Order Franciscans. Franciscan institutions today include colleges and universities, hospitals, missions serving the poor and marginalized, and organizations engaging in activities on behalf of peace and the environment globally and locally. RARE Estate Find: Magnificent Reliquary + 2nd Class relic St. Vincent de Paul
This magnificent reliquary with the hand painted portrait on porcelain of St. Vincent de Paul with a piece of his black habit cloth enclosed under glass in the special relic compartment. With beautifully detailed brass holding it all, was obtained at the estate sale of a very wealthy French lady in NYC. Her family said she brought it over from France years ago as she had a great devotion to the Saint of Charity. The believe it was made in the late 1800's or early 1900's by his order the Vincentians. It is 6 inches tall from base to top of cross and 3 inches wide, in excellent condition for age, a truly rare piece of devotional art with a cloth worn by the Saint. The wax seal and threads are intact and to show the age of this relic a close-up picture of the wax seal shows some deterioration with age. Another very unique feature of ... morethis Vincentians relic is that a very small medal of Our Lady has been added to the seal and threads, the family told me the lady spoke to a Vincentian father who told her it was the custom of their order in the late 1800's to add a medal of Our Lady to all relics out of respect for Our Lady and to further insure the seal was not broken. It can be free standing as the pictures show or it has a metal loop so it could be hung on the wall.

France on January 28, 1572, the daughter of the royalist President of the Parliament of Burgundy. She married the Baron de Chantal when she was 20 and then lived in the feudal castle of Bourbilly. Baron de Chantal was accidentally killed by a harquebus while out shooting in 1601. Left a widow at twenty-eight, with four children, the broken-hearted baroness took a vow of chastity. Her Mother, Step Mother, Sister, first 2 children and now her husband had died. 1] Chantal gained a reputation as an excellent manager of the estates of her husband. The pious baronness met Saint Francis de Sales, the bishop ofGeneva who was preaching at the Sainte Chapelle in Dijon. They became close friends, and de Sales became her spiritual director. With his support, and that of her father and brother(the Archbishop of Bourges) and after providing for her children, Chantal left for Annecy, to start the Congregation of the Visitation. The Congregation of the Visitation was canonically established at Annecy on Trinity Sunday, 6 June 1610. 1] The order accepted women who were rejected by other orders because of poor health or age. During its first eight years. The new order also was unusual in its public outreach, in contrast to most female religious who remained cloistered and adopted strict ascetic practices. When people criticized her, Chantal famously said, What do you want me to do? I like sick people myself; I'm on their side. Her reputation for sanctity and sound management resulted in many visits by(and donations from) aristocratic women. The order had 13 houses by the time de Sales died. And 86 before Chantal herself died at

RARE JESUS CHRIST 2nd class RELIC NAZARETH, 18th century RELIQUARY, Jerusalem
Exceptional late 18th/early 19th century reliquary: Ex Petra Mensae Christi Nazareth = from the Stone of the Dining Table of Christ in Nazareth paper folded and sealed: cm 6x3 2"1/3 x 1"1/4 Custodian Father of the Holy Land. Jerusalem, wax seal. Conditions like in photo. Very nice in hand! JESUS IN NAZARETH Nazareth is famous for one thing. And one thing alone: it is the home town of Jesus. It was here that Jesus spent his boyhood. Living with his mother and father, and here that he faced the sceptical townsfolk of Nazareth. The village seems to have been held in some contempt in 1st century Palestine- a nondescript dot on the map with not much to offer. Overshadowed by nearby Sepphoris, the luxurious Greek-style capital of Herod Antipas. It is beguiling to think that Joseph and Jesus. As builders, may have traipsed over to Sepphoris ... moreto work on the new buildings. NAZARETH REJECTS JESUS The adult Jesus may have returned to his village a number of times to see his family. But there is only one recorded example of such a visit. Nazareth could not boast many celebrities among its population. So when Jesus, now a charismatic and famous teacher, returned home he was at first greeted warmly. He went to the tiny synagogue and taught there. And people were impressed by what he said. But then things turned sour. Just why they did so is not clear. It may have been that. Like many men whose birth was shadowed, he was not entirely accepted by the people he grew up with. Luke's gospel suggests the people of Nazareth did not treat Jesus with the same respect he received in the outside world. Jesus resented their skepticism. And showed it. The people of Nazareth turned on him and ran him out of town. One of the gospels says that. In the ensuing mêlée, the rougher element among the villagers tried to kill Jesus. It was probably someone in this group who referred disparagingly to Jesus as‘the son of Mary’ Mark 6:1-6) A Jewish man was normally referred to as‘the son of(his father) And we would expect Jesus t

I Post Parcels he story and history of Saint Peter. Peter was born at Bethsaida. Near the Sea of Galilee. Peter, whose name was originally Simon, was a fisherman along with his brother Andrew. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was first a follower of John the Baptist and then became ... morethe first apostle of Jesus. Andrew introduced his brother Simon to Jesus. The name Peter, meaning'rock' was selected by Jesus to indicate the he would be the rock-like foundation on which the Church would be built. Peter was a faithful follower of Jesus although at the Last Supper Jesus predicted that Peter would deny him three times following his death. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. At the time of the arrest of Jesus, Peter cut off the ear of a servant of the high priest with a sword but then, as had been predicted, he denied three times that he had never known Jesus. Peter then travelled to spread the Gospel and was in Rome in 63/64AD during the rule of the Roman Emperor Nero(r.54-68) In 64 AD Nero set fire to Rome and blamed the Christians for its destruction. Peter was one of the Christians who was taken prisoner and was sentenced to death by crucifixion. Saint Peter was crucified with his head downwards because he did not consider himself worthy to die in the same manner and posture as his Divine Master. Death of Saint Peter There are two categories of saints: martyrs and confessors. A

The container which holds the item or relic, is what you are purchasing, the relic itself is a GIFT, it is given to you free of charge. You are paying for the container, or the paper which houses the relic. Thank You For Your Understanding! Ebay has changed their rules for payment to sellers after a sale. Payments are due within 3 days of winning the item you bid ... moreon. If you cannot pay for the item in 3 days. Email the seller. Failure to pay within 3 days will receive a non-payment letter from ebay. If you still don't pay within 7 days, you can expect a strike on your record. Please don't think that we do not appreciate your business. We do, but ebay is not tollerating buyers not paying within the 3 days or up to 5 days. There have been too many non-paying buyers. If I do get a buyer who does not email with a reason, or continues to ignore my emails, then I will ban you from bidding on my sight, or in my store. I would rather have you with me, then against me. I do not control ebays sight, so please don't think that the sellers want this to happen, we just have to go along with all the rest of the rules.
