Violet Priest's Chasuble This Chasuble measures 42" down the front. 44" down the back, with a 52" width. There is a Chi Rho symbol embroidered on the front and the back. It is a nice violet color. With a matching stole that measures 44" down each side, for a total length of 88" The width measures 2" at the top widening to 4" at the bottom. There is no symbol or decoration on the stole. The stole has a dedication embroidered on it.

This Priest's Stole is off white. More of an ivory color. It is 50" long per side. For a total length of 100" The Stole is narrow at the neck. Widening to a 3 1/2" width at the bottom. Measures aprox 104" long by 22" wide A lovely church tapestry. Might be an altar piece or a vestment. Features- gold metallic threading make up the tastes and ornate brocade work; stunning rich blue velvet. Silk background textile with jacked gold pattern. Backside is a blue silk with two long pockets. This backside fabric has some thinning which can be seen through. A original tag reads"Philippe Kunstenaar& Co. New York- Paris- Lyon made in France. Ornate metal hooks in gold are sewn on in two places. May be a way to tie on the piece and wear it.one of them needs to be sewn back on as it is loose. Up for auction is violet fiddleback-style chasuble with matching stole. The detail work is quite impressive. I'm not sure of the age or country of origin. Although this vestment is in excellent shape. The orphreys are very nice, and the embroidered cross on the front is meticulously done. Was cleaned recently and hasn't been used since. Could use a good ironing, but aside from that, this set is in excellent shape. A great find for Lent!

2 ANTIQUE 1800's GOLD WIRE IRISH CATHOLIC VESTMENT TASSELS EXC NR
I know very little about these tassels. Other than they are very old, and are guaranteed as represented. They are made from hand twisted and wrapped gold wire, which I was told is 9K, but I can't confirm that. The provenance, which has been handed down verbally from generation to generation, is that they are from Ireland, and belonged to an Irish Catholic priest in the 1800's. They were apparently removed from the stoles or robes that he wore after he died, and kept by the family, who immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900's. The person I got them from was a close friend of that family. I took them to the local Catholic church(St. Williams) and the deacon there said these items were very old, and had not been used by the church in recent history. Beyond that, he could give no other information. I also tried the Mission San Luis ... moreObispo, but got nowhere there either. Even if they are not real gold, they have a long religious history, and would be great conversation items. They measure about 3-1/4" long, and weigh about 2.5 grams each.
