Stunning vestment- purchased in Europe from a Normandy church near Mont St Michele that was selling early church vestments. In fine shape for a priest to use or on a wall/ table. Front heavy woven brocade is a strong silky fabric and has fleur de lis within four pointed cross-shaped flowers. Fabric intact. Front faded to lighter blues, back stronger turquoise. Green is heavy woven taffeta& in lovely shape throughout with a few spots of dirt which should come out easily(I did not attempt to remove) I estimate the vestment to be made between 1900-1920. Gold- thread trim is from 19th c. and truly beautiful. There are two types. Also the pictures show it to be whiter than it really is, it is actually a light cream color. Estate Anglican Priest Bell-shape Cream Chasuble Vestment IHS Deco Lines

We are not certain but believe he was a Bishop. This is a"Chasuble" which is the outermost liturgical vestment worn by clergy for the celebration of the Eucharist in Western-tradition Christian Churches that use full vestments. The chasuble measures about 43 inches long from the top of the collar to bottom hem. It has the old style"bell-shape" to it. The material is a creamish white linen-blend? like material. The chasuble is embroidered with art deco lines and"IHS" ... morewhich of course stands for In His Service. This robe is vintage and used. It would benefit from a dry cleaning. We have not done so. There is some wear consistent with age and being worn. This wear might be found in frayed material, frayed trim, etc. There are quite a few spots/stains on this piece and yellowing around the collar. This chasuble has a makers tag that says: Vanpoulles Ltd. London, SWI. And another tag that says Made in France. It appears to have a good age to it. Nine White Stoles Vestment Lot
White Stoles with Orange Tips Vestment Lot This is a nice old stole lot. they are in good condition. They are probably from the 70s or 80s. There are nine in the lot. They are made of a heavy fabric. That is cream in color with orange fabric decoration at the ends. There is a string at the neck to hold them in place. There are some very minor markings on one or two of them, but this is hardly noticeable and overall this is a great lot. The length is 4 feet, one inch and the width of each is 5 inches. This stole has no stains or spills and is clean except it is heavily soiled around the collar and I think my last picture shows that. I don't attempt to clean any of these but would think a tooth brush with soap and water should do it. It measures 46" from top to bottom and is 4 1/2" wide at the bottom and 2 1/2" at the top. The piece is made of red moire fabric and trimmed in red satin ribbon that is woven with crosses in simulated gold and with other detailing in green, purple, yellow and red. The edge is trimmed in yellow, red and green roping. Red is a color typically used for Pentecost or at Easter time. It is in excellent condition and looks to have seen little use. White and purple. Because of the camera flash the purple looks blue, I did take one picture without the flash and it shows purple.
