Alb with Lace Strips Vestment This is a very nice alb. It measures 4 feet 9 inches from the top of the neck to the bottom of the hem. From shoulder to shoulder it measures 19 inches. Sleeve length is 24 inches. It's a nice alb. It is used. But still has a lot of life in it. Ends of the sleeves and bottom of the alb have lace strips. All lace is in good shape. It has a Roman square cut neckline and two bands of lace around each sleeve and bottom hem. I think this silk IHS brocade cloth is a chalice veil. It measures approximately 18 inches square. The condition is excellent. But there is a teeny area where the fabric is soiled. It is barely noticeable, and I mention it only for accuracy in the listing. This spotlet appears to be recent, not a soaked in stain and would most likely remove. I have not attempted to clean it as I am a terrible laundress. It has a C.M. Almy& Son. Rye NY label sewn on the backside. Comes from a clean. Smoke-free, pet-free environment. They both appear to have been home made. But are both very high quality. Both pieces are in eggsellent condition with no tears, rips, holes, frayed seams, stains, or odors. These are mid-weight wool with a lining and will be perfect for the cooler weather ahead of us. The first Chasuble has a neck opening of 11 ½” across. From the end of sleeve to the other and across the width of the fabric. The Chasuble is about 57” across. From the neckline down the front. The Chasuble is 41” long and 45” long down the back. There is a tiny hand-drawn cross in the center of back of the neck seam. The second Chasuble has a matching Stole that measures 96” long. The neck opening measures 12” across from side to side. And from the end of one sleeve to the other, the Chasuble is 71” wide. From the collar seam down the front. The Chasuble is 43” long and 48” long down the back. This is the most beautiful set I have listed. In my opinion, and is in very good condition for being what seems to be very old. The sale includes all seen in the photo's, the stole, the veil and maniple. They show signs of some wear but all are very clean and have no spills or stain on them that I can find. The felt appliques seem to sag from years of hanging possibly. This set has a lot of sparkle left in it and glitters more than my pictures may show and have the same beautiful silk lining. The stole measures from top to bottom of fringe 47" and is 5" wide at the bottom and is 3" wide at the top. The veil is 22" x 22" The maniple is 17" long and has it's applique on one side only. All the gold appliques are the same shade of gold and I think pertain. Two of the pieces have a red silk lining and the other two have gold silk. Each piece is very clean with no spills, dirt or stains. The stole measures from the top to bottom of the fringe 57" long and is 4 1/2" wide at the bottom and is 3" wide at the top. All 6 of these have been used(some a bit more than others) And most are handmade. I will make note of any serious damage or soiling in the listing below. I will describe them from left to right, as shown in the picture· The first Stole is white satin on the front side and has a light green satin lining. It is decorated with a green band with gold crosses and green and yellow fringe. The stole measures 80” long with the fringe. Is 4 ¼” wide at the ends and has a 5 ½” long strap holding the two side together. The neck area of this piece has“ring around the collar” stains and the green lining has faded areas. The next Stole measures 108” long and is 5” wide with a 7 ½” gold string holding the two sides together. This stole is somewhat stiff due to the fact that it is made from white cross-stitch fabric and has a white cotton lining. 57"ANTIQUE CHURCH BANNER GOLD THREAD MUSEUM TAPESTRY MADONNA LATIN MASS VESTMENT
Selling this beautiful antique banner. This is truly wonderful. It says Janua Coeli which is Latin for Gate of Heaven. One of Our Blessed Mother's titles. The previous owner said it was from a very old church with stone walls(they lived in Belgium) but the church had been eventually closed, and they were able to take it home. It is composed of some kind of beautiful gold thread tapestry. I believe looking at the images on the background, that this was all hand done somehow. This does not look like a yardage of cloth which someone placed an image of Our Lady on it. I am not learned in textile art, I just appreciate beauty and love Our Lady, which is how I came to own it. I didn't care if it had any damages, and still don't. I think it is just wonderful as it is. I had this hanging in my home but then we decided to bring home baby ... morekittens, which at some point realized that playing with the metal fringe was so much fun. I was afraid they would claw it and damage it, so I took it down and placed it in my hope chest. I have been thinking for over 6 months now what to do about it. The kittens will live at least 10+ years. So I have decided to sell it. It seems a shame to hoard something away in a hope chest when another could be looking at it every day. It will also help my family's financial situation. It brought me much peace and joy having it in our home. It made me meditate upon Our Lady, and if ever you have anxiety, she is just the person you need to stop and talk to. She always brings me much peace. If you need more photos, please let me know. The gold color and detail is very hard to catch with the camera. To see the damages, mostly look at Our Lady's dress and clouds. This is another type of fabric than the brocade and has tears. Her image, her face, has wear which you can see. The end fringe has some loose areas which will need to be resewn which you can see in the photos(thanks to the kittens) and the tabs on top have some tearing across the top of the tabs and they are supposed to snap a
