Antique victorian micro beaded Rose purse w/silver filigree closure
Antique vintage micro glass beaded purse. This lovely vintage purse has a filigree frame and closure. There are roses on front and one large rose on back. the background beads are nice and black, my flash fades them out some. I think the insides have been relined. I don't think that was the original lining. I don't see any beads missing but thay are so small I could have missed some. From the top of the closure to the bottom of purse is about 61/2 inches and at the widest part about 5 inches. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding as I do not do returns. Description There are signs of age. And of use. This ia lovely bag, measuring 5-1/4 across one side only, when laying flat. The length is 6-1/2 inches. Close inspection will discover two things. there is no frame, maybe at one time but it is long gone now. And two, there are small holes to the beading. The interior, with a jeweler's loupe, looks to be jute, and there is no loss of beads, other than those from the holes itself. Incredibly good condition for its age. The hardware is outstanding. There are beautiful flower baskets on the sides and the part the the handles hang from. The lining does have ware/ 3 tears from use and age. Which is very common with these purses. The original mirror is still inside. The only real damage is to the fringe on the bottom. This can be repaired. An early American child's toy caster set. The frame is in good condition with no cracks or breaks to the pewter rings and the handle is unbroken. The bottles all match and are in the ribbed belt pattern. The glass stopper is correct. But has a bit of sun-purple(see photo 3& 4) The wider shaker cap has surface corrosion. Stand measures 7 3/8" tall. Tallest bottle is 4" with the stopper in place. These sets date to the 1880's& 1890's. Frame and bottle can be seen in Lechler's TOY GLASS, page 21.

It is made of rose quartz beads in both a single bead and double bead design measuring a total of 38" There is a large pendant in carved jadeite measuring about 2 1/4" in diameter with 1 1/4" carved spheres on both sides. There are also smaller jadeite spheres measuring about 1" in diameter at both ends. I have taken a lot of photos so you can hopefully see the details. This is a set of 3 antique/vintage beaded roses with leaves appliques. They are in very good vintage condition. I bought these many years ago at an antique show. First because they were so gorgeous, and second because I thought I would embellish a jacket or dress with them. They are still gorgeous and I never did anything with them! They measure 3" in height to the bottom of the leaves, 2.25" in width through the rose, and 3" in width through the leaves. The center of the roses are padded(picture 11) and so, they are about.5" in depth. In picture 4, I am holding a rose to show the silver bead edging that is around the outer edges of the roses. Because the center is padded, when I laid them down flat, the edges tend to roll under, preventing you from seeing the silver bead edging. This problem would be eliminated once you ... morestitched them to something. The beads are a soft pink, white and silver. The pink/white sections of the rose are regular little round beads. The silver highlighting consists of both round silver beads and elongated bugle beads. The leaves are white and silver bugle beads, surrounded by silver round beads. I'm certain that these were handmade. There are a few missing silver beads around the edges, but nothing is loose. These are exquisite! Colors are bone white base with design in pale pale yellow and flower in pinks and green and gold beading in a linear design and what appears to be gold leaf on the rim. It is 9 3/4" in diameter and about 2 1/4" deep and wider at the handle. The rim shows very minor wear consistent with a piece of this age. Otherwise in very good condition. Beautiful piece. Details: 18 inches in diameter 12 inches high PLUS 5 inches of beaded fringe 8 petals and 8 rosette diamonds 1 Portrait Petal of a young lady in a white gown printed on silk Remaining petals are cotton damask with chiffon overlay on four of the petals for contrasting interest. Diamond rosetts are made of black netted lace. This entire shade is hand made and hand stitched! It took about 30 hours of stitching to complete this lampshade. It is made using the old world method so would be suited for period rooms where authentication is desired.
