Beaded on Black Base- wire tree sculpture. Original by Sal Villano. 8"H x 6"W x 6"D Made of 26 gauge brass wire. Green yellow and white glass fringe beads are woven into the branches. The tree is mounted on irregular shaped smooth black glass base using a bonding agent mixed with sea sand and pebbles. The sand and pebbles are painted with green and yellow India ink to look like moss covered earth. You can create this and other wire trees using my book"CREATING GEM. Antique Black Glass Beaded Drawstring Purse With Silver Chain
Satisfy your Dowton Abbey fantasies with this beautiful black beaded purse with silver drawstring chain closure. The chain appears to be silver although I have not tried to polish the metal. One filigree bead and one is missing. The soft mesh-like body of the bag is covered in a series of vertical stripes made up of strands of black glass beads. The lining is a muted purple silk hand stitched around the collar of the bag. There are a few loose threads and the inevitable losses. But the bag is in remarkably good condition, the beadwork pattern makes it difficult to notice any missing strands. An easy replacement if deemed necessary. 8" wide at base x 6 1/2" tall tapered to 4 1/2" top. Nice weight and fluid movement. This bag will see you to many elegant events if used with care. Here is a wonderful artisan created glass bead beaded black coil rattlesnake. Snake bracelet. The bracelet is hand crated in a very difficult pattern. The beads are all glass and black in various sizes. The eyes are silver glass beads. The bracelet measures 16" when gently uncoiled. The bracelet weighs 16 grams. Just a unique and one of a kind, conversation starting bracelet. This bracelet has been kept in a protective bag. Another great item from my personal collection that I am now thinning out. VINTAGE GLASS BLACK BEADED FLAPPER PURSE WITH BRASS DECORATIVE HANDLES METAL CH
I don't know the age of this purse. But have found it very beautiful! I got the purse at an estate sale and there was no information that came with it, so I will do my best to describe it. The purse measures 5" x 6" It is Black Beaded with what I believe are glass black beads that are sewn together very loosely. From what I can see. There are some of these beads missing. One side of the purse seems to fully intact, the other side looks as the thread is getting very old& coming undone in spots. The top of the purse is made of brass that has etching on it and flowers that you can see in between, and that is also where the body of the purse is sewn to the brass handles. There is a kiss closer on the very top with a 14" metal chain for carrying. Each link in the chain measures 1/4" and where this chain connects to ... morethe purse, there are brass openings the chain connects too which also has etching on them. The purse is lined, with silk that once used to be a very pretty blue green but has now faded, and dirty. The lining is finished off around the handle area with a unique trim to make it look more of a plush finish. The lining is fully intact except in one small area at the unique trim area of about 1 1/4" near the kiss closer. It's a little hard to see. The kiss closer looks like they are acorns. I have not done anything to clean this purse or to try and fix the lining at all. Please email with any questions and I will answer if possible. Ca. late 1800's. Cut glass seed beads. Approximately 23-1/2 inches wide end to end& is attached to a narrow brown/black ribbon. It still has 69 full-length 15-1/2 inch long fringe strands. As you can see from the photos. It also has many broken strands which have been carefully tied off. The fringe was likely originally attached to clothing or a lampshade. It would take a lot of work to repair it but would be great for harvesting if you need a large amount of beads for repairs or another project. The Necklace does not necessarily fit into any particular Tribal Style Category; however, the Artisan is from the extreme Northwest California Coastal Region. The Necklace is strung together and knotted with a strong, Blue/Grey" cord material. It was made for a guy; however, a girl may wear this if so desired! Nice and long, a total of 22" this One-Of-A-Kind Necklace is tightly strung together in sections with soft Brown Leather separating the sections. Charming London Victorian Black Glass-Beaded Purse, Sweet Shamrock Detail
I found this lovely. Antique, Victorian beaded bag at the Portobello Road Flea Market in London a few decades ago. It's made of what appears to be silk and cotton, and the exterior is beaded all over with tiny black glass beads, with a center detail of a green and white glass-beaded shamrock(shamrocks on both sides of the bag) It has a lovely engraved brass frame, and a nice brass chain handle. It has some issues- the beads have come off a narrow strip on one side(I've highlighted this in the photos) and the brass frame needs repair- I think it's an easy repair as nothing appears to be broken, but the hinge needs to be re-screwed on one side so that the bag snaps shut properly. The interior is a black cotton and has loose stitching around the frame. The beading on both shamrocks is intact, as is the beading on one side. I think ... moreit can be very easily restored to its original glory, but I just don't have the patience. Be lovely addition to a collection. It may possibly be genuine, but I am not absolutely certain. The beaded looped strands are in shades of black and red, however, one of the tassels has a black strand that is hanging. It also has a total of four(not including this strand) loops as opposed to the other having six. I believe that one could find beads and add new strands if this is not suitable.
