This is a very finely made vintage wall plaque made in two different types of wood clearly representing a red fox. The eyes are accented with gold coloured metal plugs or nails inserted into the centre of each eye. The curvature of the fox head is remarkable workmanship, the plaque is not signed but is certainly the work of an expert. Measures 5.5ins long x 4.5ins wide and is 1 ins deep. My goal is to rescue worthwhile. Vintage and unique items and place them in good homes at a reasonable cost to be enjoyed. This is a vintage swept hilt rapier sword securely mounted to a wood base for hanging on the wall. It measures 39 inches long by 2 inches deep. The blade is 2 inches wide at the top. The hand guard is 6 inches across. It weighs 3 ½ pounds. This is not a toy or flimsy metal decoration. It is a sharp, heavy metal rapier sword. It features ornate deep engraving on the blade accented with gold tone coloration. It has a red tasseled cord around the leather wrapped grip and heavy metal swirled hand guards at the grip. I know nothing about rapier swords so I am trying to describe it as best I can. I do not know what the metal is but it is a real weapon. It does not have a makers mark.
