It weighs 17.6 pennyweight/27.37grams and measures 18 1/2 inches. I took a pic of it on my scale as well as next to a measuring tape. This is one of the best watch chains I have ever had the opportunity to see. It is a heavy double chain construction with a rectangular slide that is hand etched with a different decoration on each side of the slide. The slide also works well as depicted by photos. There are three other areas on the chain that are also heavily decorated. One has the snap clasp on the end of it-which is working well. The other has a loop and the third holds the watch end to the chain. This chain is really LOVELY and OLD. Condition is great for the age. Being an ANTIQUE the chain is USED. There are no major scratches other than those associated with a genuine chain of this age. No chips. Cracks, breaks, or repairs. This is a great piece.

Antique Heavy Ormolu Chain Late 19th Cent French 31.75 Inches Long (A)
A very decorative ormolu chain which I imagine was made late 19th century and it could well be French. It is quite heavy so I think it is made of cast iron. Each link is like a scroll with a circular ring in between each one that joins them together. At one end is a ring with a small screw thread and at the other a hook(see photos. I imagine that it originally came off a chandelier or some other type of ceiling light. I am also listing separately another identical chain which is just a little shorter. Condition. There is no damage to the chain itself but the gilding is rather worn/grubby and also there is verdigris in places down the length of the chain. All this is just surface wear and can be resolved if required. However. I would say it has a lovely old feel to it. I would say that the photos do not really do the chain justice.
