When Frenchman Maurice Guillaux took to the air above Melbourne on 16 July 1915. He became a pioneer in commercial aviation in Australia. His Bleriot XI monoplane carried 1785 souvenir postcards, official mail between the state governors and French consuls, and a small number of parcels. Guillaux was making the first delivery of domestic air mail in Australia. For the most part he followed the railway line, stopping at Seymour, Wangaratta, Albury, Wagga Wagga, Harden, Goulburn and Liverpool before reaching Sydney, his final destination, two days later, with a flying time of 9.25 flying hours. Up for auction is a vintage hand crafted model boat. The boat measures just under 18" in length. It is in excellent condition. Nothing missing or broken and a great finish to the wood. This looks like it would have been made by Aquarama, definitely not from a kit. I would say that it is R/C ready, but there are 2 small holes drilled in the hull, probably from mounting to a display, that would need to be filled.
