It has a square yoke and a nice embroidered decoration at the bottom center(front and back) consisting of a red cross and wheat and grapes. It's an Abbey brand size large. Surplice length in the center from the bottom of the yoke to the bottom of the surplice measures 31 inches. The sleeve length from the seem at the shoulder to the end of the sleeve is 18 inches. This chasuble by Cambridge Tailored Apparel features a chi rho. Grapes and wheat design embroidered in gold and green. The chasuble measures 45 inches from the back of the neck to the bottom hem. It's white with gold fringe. Cord and tassels. It's framed and matted with what appears to be lavender velour. Embroidered with golden threads into wheat, a chalice with wafer and grapes. It has gold metallic letters IHS and flowers and is lined with red silky cotton. It measures about 26 3/4" x 19 1/2" On the back it has the reference number with the sticker Made in France as well as the original price tag for detailed items as well as for a complete set. Except for a light stain on the right hand top corner and light stain on the back from rubbing on counter. It is in very good used condition. This is a very beautiful and rare salesman sampler. ANTIQUE 19th Century Fiddleback Chasuble Vestment matching Chalice Pall & Stole
Late 19th century hand sewn Fiddleback Chasuble(from Casula. Meaning little tent) with matching Chalice Pall and Stole. The items are all handsewn, top surface is crushed velvet(purple) and the reverse is silk. The orphery is a gold colored brocade with metalic thread interwoven, hand stitched. All three pieces, the Chasuble, Chalice Pall and Stole have similiar material, stitching and broccade except the Stole has metallic spring-like fringes. Dimensions: The Chasuble is overall length approximately 75" x 25-1/4" wide. The Chalice Pall is 25-1/4" x 25-1/4" The Stole is 35" long x 7-1/4" wide narrowing to 3-1/2" Damage: Chasuble: Isolated seam separation.Mall, moth damage holes on inside silk lining, some loss due to wear on velvet napp. Chalice Pall, drop of wax on velvet napp. Stole has minor wear to napp.
