Size 7(resizing available) Not cheap silver electroplate! This is a high-quality. Solid sterling silver designer ring manufactured by one of America’s leading semi-custom mount manufacturers. NOTE: Resizing is available(may incur nominal extra cost depending on size required) DESCRIPTION: The sixth century B.C. saw the introduction of the first gold and silver coinage in Asia Minor by King Croesus of Lydia. By this time. Much of the silver in the Classical Mediterranean cultures came from Spain(prior to then it was from the Athenians silver mines at Larium) In Spain extensive deposits of gold and silver were mined and then acquired by the ancient Phoenicians in trade. The ancient seafaring Phoenicians then brought the gold and silver from the Western Mediterranean and traded through the ancient Mediterranean world. Eventually the Phoenician colony of Carthage became the leading power of the Eastern Mediterranean(Hannibal’s father was not only a Carthaginian General but also a precious metals merchant) and gained control over these valuable Spanish deposits. In turn the Carthaginians engaged the Romans in three wars(known as the“Punic Wars” before Spain was lost to the Romans. Celebrating that heritage. Here’s a gorgeous, high quality sterling silver semi-custom sterling silver ring. The ring is robustly constructed, much more substantial and heavier than the typical ring band. His reign was depicted as a Golden Age of abundance and peace by many Roman authors. A mythical age when Saturn was said to have ruled. In remembrance and celebration of that age, a great(week-long) feast called Saturnalia was held throughout the Roman Empire during the winter months around the time of the winter solstice. It is thought that the festivals of Saturnalia and Lupercalia were the roots of the carnival(Mardi Gras" in the USA) Roman depictions of Saturn generally showed the god with a sickle in his left hand and a bundle of wheat in his right. In the medieval world Saturn was known as the Roman god of agriculture, justice and strength. Here are two gorgeous. Richly colored natural dark blue sapphire precious
