As the door opens a spring loaded inkwell and pen holder slides out of the box as shown in the photographs. The makers mark is shown embossed in gold on the inside writing slope. There is a brass recessed handle to the top for carrying this wonderful box. To the outside there is wear associated with age but no major damages, there is also a storage or traveling label probably of the original owner. It belonged to my mother who inherited it from a Scottish Aunt I don't think the name on the box was hers39;s. A wonderful example that would look wonderful in any home or made a great addition to any collection.
