Set of Rare, Serrated Vintage Butter Paddles, Heavy Duty Wood from Ireland
Vintage. Rare set of heavy duty, wood butter paddles. I purchased these in Ireland over 25 years ago. They are heavily serrated, with nice details in the woodwork, such as the beveling on the bottom(see pictures) In Ireland, they used them to make lovely round pats of butter with a crisscross design on them. The pats were set out in small crystal bowls. These are heavy, weighing 7 ounces together. Not used much since we bought them. Would make a lovely kitchen decoration as well as being put to their practical use in the creation of ornamented butter pats. Roughly 9 inches x 3 inches.

Lg Vintage Primitive Handled Native American Indian Basket
This is a basket I purchased from a sale at a local hospital. It was in the antique section and I was told it was Native American. I have no idea so you will have to decide for yourself(sorry) It does have a nice primitive look. It is quite large and measures 18 1/4" in dia. counting the handles and 15 5/8" not counting the handles. It is 3 7/8" tall. It is also quite heavy. It is all in nice condition except for a small(1/2" long place of missing wrap from the top edge. Because I'm not sure about this nice old basket being Native American I'm starting it low. Recently I found them at an antique dealer and thought they would make a great decorative patio/ garden addition. The pots are worn and the porcelain enamel has chipped in places and rust also can be seen, one of the white pots is missing a handle and has a hole near the bottom, perfect“patina” for the outdoor patio and garden are area to add charm to the area. Antique Copper KNY SCHEERER CO NEW YORK ? Cheese Mold ?
An informed ebayer just told us this is a cheese mold. Neat old copper or brass container as shown. It does not react to a magnet so we are assuming it is brass or copper. About 13" in diameter and about 9" tall. Has a moveable band around it that opens and closes many 3/8' holes. You can add tension with the latch to make it water tight. One of our buyers brought this to us and he thought it was a Minnow Bucket. Other folks have suggested Cheese mold, Entamogy Collection Container for reptiles or bugs, but we believe with no real reason that it is an old container used for sterilizing medical equipment. KNY SCHEERER company had two major lines of products. One was Entamology equipment and the other was Medical equipment. We think the band it used to empty the hot hot water after sterilization. Our buyer thought it was a Minnow ... morebuckket but you have to open the whole lid to open it and we think the minnows would jump out or it would be difficult to add or remove bait. Also the two latches are pretty substantial and most bait buckets have one simple flip latch. The cheese mold theory is possible but we found no information KNY SCHEERER ever had this type of product line. The entamology idea is valid but we think if it were a collection container it would have had screen over some of the openings and also the only way to open or close it is to open the entire full lid. We think that design is unlikely. Our container has two dents to the lid as shown but otherwise is in great shape with wonderful old patina. All latches, hinges and the moveable center band function properly and do not appear to have been repaired or altered in any fashion. Measuring 8" long x 8" high. This is an amazing old stone figural piece featuring six black figures singing while holding a music book. From an estate in New York. This amazing piece appears to be from early in the century. The detailed carvings and hand painted intricate work is striking. We are not sure. But on the bottom, there appears to be a signature but it is too faded to identify. However, it might not be a signature. It might be the graining of the stone.

Small Vintage Woven Abenaki Indian Basket Old estate find. This is one of seven baskets that I picked up from a collector. It is made of woven material with wide strips of pale green and red. It has a round shape with a matching lid. In very good vintage condition, I do not know the age. I have shown in the photos a metal tag that says"Genuine Abenakis Indian Handicraft Trade Mark" The metal tag is not included in the sale. Inside the basket are five miniature cone shaped baskets that have colored rings for hanging. They measure 2.5" long. One of the miniatures is missing the ring. The basket measures 2.5" tall. Large Primitive Coushatta Basket Made of Long Leaf Pine Needles Nice Collectible
Large Vintage Woven Pine Needle Seminole Basket Old estate find. I was told by the owner that this is basket made by the Coushatta of Elton Louisiana. It is made of woven bunches of long leaf pine needles. It has a round shape with thick coils creating an ovoid shape that narrows at the top and bottom. In very good vintage condition, I do not know the age. The basket measures 11" tall. About 16" across at the widest point, and 8" across the top opening. Nice vintage Woven Pine Needle Basket. Great collectible, great display piece. Basketry has been an important economic resource in the Coushatta community since the 19 th century. Baskets were sold and traded locally by individual weavers until 1965. When tribal weavers organized and established a crafts cooperative to market and sell their baskets. Although a few weavers maintain ... morethe tradition of split cane basketry, Coushatta weavers are renowned for their coiled, longleaf( pinus palustris) pinestraw basketry. This tradition seemingly evolved from an older Koasati tradition of coiled basketry in which various native grasses including wire grass. Pahé. Found in the pine forests of the upper Gulf Coast, were utilized. These older baskets were sewn with strips of the inner bark of the dogwood or mulberry trees. Although cane basketry predates most other basketry traditions in the Southeast, coiled basketry is identified by Coushatta elders as one of their oldest artistic traditions(Gregory 2006) Longleaf pine is today preferred by Coushatta weavers who coil and sew bundles of pine needles together using a palm fiber called raffia that is purchased commercially and can be left natural or colorfully dyed. Especially on the inside. inside has been crudely cut and appears to have been crudely hollowed out. the tumbler is small. just 3 inches tall. ... morethe size of an english whiskey tumbler. it is irregular in shape. and while it appears to be made of some kind of horn. i can not identify it beyond the description i have just given. i know some rhino horn cups were ornately decorated. this horn cup is quite plain. i think i bought it right. so there is no reserve for you tonight. and yes. Antique Primitive Model Bark Canoe 25" Mint! With Seats and Paddles
This is the greatest replica canoe I've seen. It measures 25" by 6 inches wide and about 4 inches tall. It has two seats and two hand shaped paddles! The wrappings all seem to be intact and sturdy. In the last picture you can see in the lower side of the boat a split in the bark that is natural to the bark but I wanted to mention it because it is there! It is about 2 inches long and very narrow. I don't know what kind of bark it is but the canoe came from New York State. Good Luck!

Here is a beautiful old utilitarian container up for bid-it's a pottery vessel from the US Midwest. 1800's. This old piece is a heavy clay/pottery and measures 7" tall X 5" diameter; the actual top opening is 2 1/2" and it used to have a lid. Please look at all of my pictures carefully as this is an antique item with lots of WEAR! The pottery has many little nics. Scratches, dings, stains, etc.it is a very old piece that had been used! Large 18th C. Hearth Tool. Hand Forged Brass & Iron Pierced Spatula Best!!
There is no reserve on this handsome early American spatula. We are pleased to offer this late 18 th c. American spatula made for hearth cooking. It is made of hand forged iron and thin walled brass. The handle is made of iron and you can feel the bumps along the shaft where the smithy straightened it with his hammer. The handle ends at one end with a rat tail hanger and at the other end with a duck bill shape attached to the spatula with 3 copper rivets. The pierced brass spatula has a six pointed star or flower inside a circle. All in all. This is a really beautiful piece for collection or display. The measurements are: 19 ½” from end to end and the spatula measures 5 ¾” at the widest point. We only accept PayPal as payment. We will ship according to the shipping calculator. Antique Toleware Water Can Pot With Original Aesthetic Paint Decoration 17" tall
Antique Toleware Large Watering Can Originally found in central PA. This is a very nice large Toleware Painted Watering Can. I'm calling it a watering can because I'm not sure what else it could be though it does look like a very large coffee pot. It is made of metal and has a very nice painted decoration. Pale green inside, outside is red with black and gold borders and lovely original Aesthetic Painted Decoration. There is a nice shaped fold over handle on the top that curves to accommodate the finial on the lid. There is a fixed back handle and a pouring spout. There is some wear to the black paint on the handle and some wear on the paint decoration- please see pictures. Still a great Toleware Painted Piece with a nice central PA Amish decor. 17" tall to top of handle. Lovely Paint Decorated Toleware Piece. Would look great ... morenext to the fireplace. MUSEUM QUALITY PILGRIM CENTURY X-BASE TRESTLE BASE CANDLESTAND OLD GREEN PAINT Description: A MUSEUM QUALITY EXAMPLE OF AMERICAN PILGRIM CENTURY TRESTLE FOOT CANDLE STAND FRESH FROM A CONNECTICUT COLLECTION IN CHESTNUT AND MAPLE WITH OLD GREEN PAINT IN NEARLY PERFECT ORIGINAL CONDITION. WE HAVE NOT HAD A BETTER EXAMPLE IN OVER 10 YEARS. A LATE PILGRIM CENTURY X-BASE TRESTLE FOOT Candle stand from Eastern Connecticut or Western Rhode Island. Circa 1690-1720 IN GREAT OLD 19TH CENTURY GREEN PAINT OVER AN EARLIER SALMON RED PAINT WITH ITS ORIGINAL ROUND MAPLE TOP. The absolute best shaped and carved x-base trestle feet. IT HAS AN EARLY BALUSTER TURNED SHAFT WHICH HAS INCISED DECORATION. The OVER SIZED original cleat is still intact. It has a one board MAPLE top which is still held on by its original ROSE HEAD nails and WOODEN PEGS. The feet are ... moremortised and notched and it still retains its original securing wedge in the bottom. THE SHAFT AND FEET ARE MADE IN NATIVE CHESTNUT AND THE TOP IS A NATIVE MAPLE. The use of chestnut and the over sized Cleat and Trestle feet all relate to know and documented Eastern Connecticut or Rhode Island examples from the last quarter of the 17th century and the first quarter of the 18th. THE PAINT HISTORY IS FANTASTIC. IT IS NOW IN AN OLD 19TH CENTURY GREEN. THERE IS TRACES OF AN OLD BLACK VARNISH THAT WAS APPLIED OVER THE GREEN BUT IT IS NOW REMOVED. THE GREEN IS OVER AN OLDER SALMON RED PAINT WHICH IS STILL VISIBLE UNDER THE GREEN. THE SURFACE AND PATINA ARE THE VERY BEST. The stand is 26" tall and the top is 13 1/2" by 13" with great shrinkage with a few old shrinkage lines. This is a PILGRIM CENTURY PERIOD candle stand of great quality and importance. The condition is extremely fine and the form and shape are the best. For a similar example see. RARE 18TH C SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA OR MARYLAND QUEEN ANNE WALNUT KETTLE STAND Description: FRESH FROM AN OLD NEW YORK COLLECTION A VERY RARE 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA OR MARYLAND KETTLE STAND TEA TABLE. Circa 1740-1760 with A ONE BOARD ROUND TOP, A FINLEY TURNED SHAFT AND THE BEST HAND CARVED LEGS AND OVER SIZED QUEEN ANNE PAD FEET ALL IN NATIVE WALNUT. THIS IS A VERY RARE STAND. KETTLE STANDS ARE SIMILAR TO CANDLESTANDS BUT THEY ARE SHORTER AND THE PROPORTIONS ARE ABOUT 3/4 SIZE. THEY WERE PLACED NEAR TABLES OR CHAIRS AND WOULD HOLD THE TEA KETTLES AND SERVING PIECES. NEEDLESS TO SAY ONLY THE WEALTHY OF THE PERIOD WERE ABLE TO AFFORD SUCH LUXURY. This was a form that was common in England but very rare here in the Colonies. It exhibits the classical 18th Century design and construction elements found on documented pieces ... morefrom the Souther part of Pennsylvania and the Western Maryland and Virgina area. The shaft is deeply turned out of walnut. The high cut and arched Cabriole Legs are Dovetailed into the shaft which also has notched decoration. The single board Walnut top has a beveled edge and the best hand planning marks on the underside. The top still retains its original cleats and all its original hand wrought screws. There are a couple of added screws for support. The surface is an old turn of the century refinish that has mellowed through nicely with traces of the original dark varnish throughout. The condition is wonderful. THERE ARE NO REPAIRS OR RESTORATIONS. The single Board Top measures about 17" with great shrinkage and NO CRACKS. It stands 22" tall.
