Antique Reliquary Relic Crucifix Cross Rosary Lot of 3 St. Elizabeth St. Dominic
This listing is for a lot of 3 antique wood rosaries. All in tact, containing three different reliquary crucifixes with relics from Saints Elizabeth, Dominic and a third that I am unable to decipher the writing. The Saint Elizabeth rosary also has a St. Benedict medal attached to it. The inscription inside reads"Agnus Dei Vincentia S. Elisabeth" I am not 100% sure which Saint Elizabeth this is a relic for. My research tells me the word"vincentia" in Latin means triumphant but I am not sure if that is its intended use here. The crucifix measures approximately 2 inches long and is also engraved on the back"Alba Roma P.L.L. Paolo" which may have been the name of its owner, a nun perhaps. The Saint Dominic rosary's internal inscription reads"Agnus Dei, bois de l arbre de St. Dominique" This crucifix ... morealso measures approximately 2 inches in length. The third and largest rosary has the inscription that I cannot decipher, other than"Agnus Dei" This rosary also has a Pope Pius and Saints Peter and Paul medal attached to it. The crucifix measures 2 1/2 inches tall. All three rosaries close with a tiny screw in the bottom. These rosaries came from a large lot of rosaries acquired in Europe. I am not an expert in religious relics so am only conveying what I see on these items.

Roman Catholic Reliquary intended to hold a Relic of The True Cross Housed in an 800 silver& gilt wire filigree cruciform reliquary. The relic itself is not present. The white cross on which it rested is present. Below it is the Latin inscription. Crucis D. N. I. C. the letters stand for Dominus Noster Iesus Christus. Translated, The Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The round relic case is also 800 silver gilt set with paste jewels. It is removable from the reliquary stand. It bears the wax seal of the bishop who authenticated the original relic. The reliquary stand is made of 800/1000 grade silver. It is cruciform. With a solid back and filigree face, and stands on a three step base with a handle at its back to facilitate veneration by the faithful. It is also set with paste jewels. A beautiful 3rd Class Relic. St. Maria Goretti on prayer card and a Portiuncula or Porzionculai church(St. Francis of Assisi) cross, both blessed by Pope Pius XII in 1951. St. Maria was a virgin martyr beatified(1947) and canonized(1950) by Pope Pius XII. The Portiuncula, Mother Church of the Order of Francis(where the Order of Franciscans formed) is near Assisi, Italy, where St. Francis lived most of his life. It is said that Christ spoke to and appeared to St. Francis in the Portiuncula. The S. Goretti card is in excellent condition, vivid color, no wear on the card or edges, seal sticker(dated 1949) is intact and undamaged. The Portiuncula cross is also in excellent condition. Some items really don’t need a description. And a piece of the cross of Jesus Christ is one of them. The shard is housed in a metal case that is in great condition. There is some discoloration of the metal due to the age of the piece. But that’s on the back. The front appears very nice. The card on the inside which holds the shard is also in great shape. There doesn’t appear to be any fading or discoloration. This is truly a rare and magnificent item. This relic was given as a gift to my grandfather by the Carmelite order for his dedication and work for Mount Carmel high school in Chicago. Along with other acts.
