Antique guilloche enamel rosary locket case chatelaine pendant sterling silver
Gorgeous and perfect antique rosary and locket case features a guilloche plaque enameled in a pale blue with pink roses. The case is sterling silver stamped on the inside. The back has an engraved monogram"EMR" or"ERM" Inside is nestled a rosary; It seems to be sterling as well but there are no stamps or markings that I can see. The enameling is in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever. The case is also perfect. No dings or dents, just gentle wear consistent with age. The jump ring at the top also seems to be original to the piece. Locket measures 1 1/16" high and 5/16" thick. Rosary is 20 3/4" long. This is a vintage beads rosary. There are 58 beads total. This beautiful rosary measures 22.25" long when laid out flat. The cross measures 1.75" long and 1.25" wide. Beautiful details in the cross. One thing about this necklace is that it seems to have broke at one point. There is a small section above the cross that has been repaired with a yellow wire. It holds strong. My Great-Uncle George was a Catholic Priest in Chicago from 1923(ordained) until his death ... morein 1951. He traveled extensively throughout the world on behalf of the Church. Had multiple audiences with the Pope and was pastor of Saint Peter and Paul Church on the south side of Chicago. He left an incredible assortment of religious and non-religious artifacts to his brother, my Grandfather, who stored them in a very large closet where they sat until recently. All of the items that contain this paragraph as part of the listing are obviously older than 1951. It is now my responsibility to auction these items on ebay. They are in the exact condition as they were when they were removed from the storage box. This auction features a 3 3/4" X 2.0" wooden cross with a brass corpus. Above the corpus there is a Stanhope viewer with an image of the Basilica of St. Anne de Beaupre. There is some nice light carving all around the corpus that enhances the piece and that plus the patina probably indicates a 19 40's or 50's date for the cross. The brass pull chain style rosary consists of 59 tiny brass beads and a brass crucifix with raised corpus.VERY RARE TO FIND in this condition. There is a pin on the center medal so it can be worn on the lapel or hat. This one has a small case. The larger brass bead rosaries were military issued.these small pin rosaries WERE NEVER MILITARY ISSUED. That is why they are so rare to find. It measures 5 3/4" when laid out flat and condition is excellent. It has the old"c" clasp which dates it. I am pleased to present a very unique Vintage Silver(gold filled) Amethyst Beads Rosary with the Cross and Icon- although it has been pre-prayed. Each rosary bead is unique and hand cut. Antique Rosary This auction is for a really nice and very well made antique rosary. The rosary has a nice string of beads that look to be carved and polished mother of pearl and then it has a gold crucifix and center piece. It measures about 16¼" long when stretched out and in good condition but the chain is apart at one point. The crucifix is engraved on the back with the previous owner’s name.
