The space sizes are approximate(40 2"x3/4" spaces; 21 3.5"x3/4" spaces; 11 4.5"x3/4" spaces; 14 4.5"x2.5" and 1 6.5"x2.5" space. HAMILTON” cast iron drawer pull and the label bracket are firmly attached with label still in place which says“18 Bernhardt Gothic/ ALLEY 1” which I believe is the typeface and size that was stored in this drawer. Measures approximately: 32" x 16.75" Hamilton drawer handle adds another.75" to width) x 1.5" IMPERFECTIONS: A) one space divider(3.5" width size) was cracked in half and the piece is missing so there is only a half of the ... moreoriginal space divider. Which is still firmly in place. This is very easily restorable by either getting another piece made to replace it, sanding the edge and keeping it short, or removing it entirely for a larger space. B) There are water stains to the bottom of the drawer which happened well over 15 years ago. Which does not effect the wood strength. There is no warping. The water stain just affects the color of the wood. C) Markings on tray bottom and wear as expected with a vintage printer drawer that was used. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS Wood dividers in very good condition except for the one described in Imperfections“A” detail above. This Wood Printer's Drawer is sold as is. No return. For your consideration is a Wonderful Vintage Printers Tray with original Green layered paint. I see old blue paint underneath. Numbers 6& 30 are White stenciled on the front of the drawer. Cast Hamilton Stamped Drawer Pull still in place. Measures 32 1/4" x 16 1/2" with the pull 3/4" out from the front. 89 shadow boxes. See pictures 6 and 11 you can see part of 2 dividers are broke. I would just remove it and make a longer display area. I wiped this tray off. But I will let you detail it. Some dust and dirt on the back drop and in the corners. This is an antique Hamilton MFC CO Typeset Drawer. Very nice condition. The only concern is minor damage to the left front drawer face. It has 89 sections which are undamaged in original condition. The drawer measures 32" wide. 16 3/4" deep and 1 1/2" thick. It has a cast iron drawer pull which has embossed raised letters which say; HAMILTON MFG CO with a scalloped design underneath. Wonderful Vintage Hamilton Wood Printers Typeset Drawer Tray Shadow Box- 89 Slots. 32" X 17" with Hamilton handle. I bought this to hold my collections of Lego mini figurines. We have decided to move& won't have room for it in our new home. It looks really nice. I cleaned it with lemon oil, then I finished it all over with Danish oil. It has really neat shadowing in the slots where the print tiles must have been setting for years. There are some hand written letters on some of the slots. It has the metal on the drawer front& 2 silver metal bars on the sides, these frame it very nicely, but also make it quite heavy. Boxed it weights 10 LBS. Great vintage condition. Hamilton Holly Wood Type Company, in 1880, and within 20 years became the largest manufacturer of wood type in the United States. His mother took her family to Lockport, NY, to be closer to her brothers-in-law, and for two years Hamilton attended Lockport High School. In 1868, the family moved back to Two Rivers, and at the age of 16, Edward went to work as a tender of a clothespin lathe in a chair and pail factory. Tending a clothespin lathe was not enough to satisfy Hamilton- in addition to figuring out ways to improve his production and the quality of his work, he volunteered in the engine room to learn about steam power and the mechanics of the equipment; next he managed a brick factory for his uncle until the business folded; and then he sought his fortune in the 1876 gold rush in South Dakota.
