Wood separations, Sturdy. Very good overall condition, This charming mahogany smokers cabinet was crafted in Victorian England around 1850. The mahogany displays a rich complexion and a highly pronounced grain that have only grown more beautiful with time; the same is true for the exquisite satinwood and ebony inlays that adorn the interior of this piece. The richness of the wood owes to the elaborate finishing process that Victorian cabinetmakers employed in constructing their furniture; there were often over a dozen steps in the finishing process. Which ended with a fine, hand-rubbed coat of wax. Not only does the wax enrich and protect the beauty of the wood, but it is easily maintained for long periods of time: waxing a piece just twice a year will keep it looking new indefinitely. This fine Victorian smokers cabinet is certainly an excellent example of how smart craftsmanship can defy the perils of time. It has. However, sustained some wear, including superficial separations in the wood and a number of scuffs. It has also lost a few knobs on the interior drawers; the small, inner door has also warped so that it doesn't fully shut. Neither do the exterior doors lock. However, none of these details detract from the fundamental beauty and convenience of this piece; instead, they only add to its lovely antique charm. Overall condition is therefore very good: whether used for its original purpose, as a jewelry box, or for storing other small items, this smokers cabinet would make a fine addition to any furniture collection! This side has developed some spotting and a superficial wood separation. Shown here is the opposite side. The

This Deliciously exquisite ... moreand most unusual item is simply a delight. And a genuine curio of the Victorian era. It was clear that a fine lady would need to protect her treasures from potential light fingered servants, however it seems there was also a need to ensure her expensive perfumes were not being surreptitiously dabbed on the neck of the housemaid and it must have been derived from the“Butlers Enemy” the drinks“Tantalus” first shown at the great exhibition, that the idea of combining a version of this with a lockable jewellery box must have come, hence allowing both valuables to be displayed whilst at the same time protecting them from use by the staff. It is unclear when the first of these were made and how widely they were used and for how long they were popular, clearly nowhere near as widespread in use as their counterpart the drinks Tantalus which is borne out by their rarity today. This example is stunning and in really very nice condition, it consists of four cut glass(probably Bohemian) perfume bottles themselves in lovely condition with only a couple of flea bites on one of the stoppers to fault them. The jewellery box opens at the top with lockable hinged double doors which also secure the bottles in the Tantalus; the doors also have superb bevelled glass panels to allow the jewellery below to be viewed. Inside there are three red leather lined compartments two of which have red leather covered tilt-top covers and are silver embossed with the words in old English script“ Hair Pin s” the central compartment is open. There are a few scuffs and minor age and use related marks to the leather but these are only very much what you would expect, indeed require of a used item of this age. There’s a secret drawer“there is always a secret drawer” particularly with the better pieces, this is where you keep the good stuff and is laid out as a bespoke jewellery tray, it is at the bot

I can just imagine the ... moreexcitement walking up to a jewelry store window and seeing a beautiful necklace or pin displayed on these beautiful stands. I can combine shipping charges if you win more than one auction. These are from the early part of the 20th century. Some of them are missing their velvet insert but it wouldn't be too difficult to wrap and glue a small piece of velvet around a piece of cardboard and set it inside the ones that are missing theirs. The velvet inserts by the way that ARE included. Are stiff from age, but you could still pin a lovely brooch or earrings to the fabric. The color of the original velvet is a dark burgundy. All of these wood displays are in excellent condition for their age. I see no damage or repairs to any of them other than the missing insert. This one is 4 by 3 3/4 inches and stand about 2 inches tall. It held 5 engagement rings.

Antique Victorian Celluloid Dresser/ Glove/ Jewelry Box Very Pretty Celluloid Box. It depits a farm scene with a man and woman working the farm. There are white roses on a blue background on either side and surrounding the rest of the box. The box measures 12 1/2" long x 3 3/4" deep x approx. 3" tall. There is obvious wear at the bottom edges of box. Nothing major. Overall in good condition despite it's age. The bottom of the box shows wear as well. see pictures) The box has a functional brass closure and two hinges. The top of the inside is lined with a white silk fabric. The bottom lining may have been removed if it was ever there.

I don't see any signs of deterioration to the silk or separation from the box, I did not attempt to clean the box. It is as is. Inside needs to be dusted in cracks. At that time, it was my attempt at saving a piece of Victorian history. The table was unusable as it stood. It had obviously been sitting on a porch and had picked up that damp, musty wet smell. The woven fabric was missing from the top leaving a rough worn and damaged top. The bottom shelf was split…surprisingly still attached. What was good about the table? The box was sturdy, the bamboo legs and ball feet were all intact and the woven fabric around the box was in great shape. When I bought this 30 years ago, faux finishes were a big thing. Since the bottom shelf’s paint was heavily crazed, I thought I would just craze the top with black paint and lightly stain the woven area to even out the color. After allowing ... morethe piece to sit in the sun many days, I painted the flat surfaces and sprayed the entire piece with poly. Even after all that, if you put your nose up to it, you can tell it is very old furniture. Over the years, I have used it as a sewing stand, a bathroom storage unit for brushes, combs, hair dryer, a jewelry box and a plant stand. Granted it is not in its original condition but it is now usable. It is an interesting decorative piece of furniture. It is from the late 1800s to early 1900s. It is stamped on the bottom#2019. It measures approximately 28” tall and the box is 13 ½” x 13 ½” x 6” Shipping will be an estimate. I do not have a box at this time.

It is found in good used condition and is signed on the bottom. It appears to be made of a potmetal with a silverplate which it has lost much of from time and use. It opens easily from the top lid with a hinge. Often these boxes would have had a silk lining. There is no lining in this box. Great for jewelry or repurposed. Pieces such as these were made during Victorian times by sailors who collected shells from their voyages to give to their awaiting lovers. It is hard to date such pieces as they are very rare, individual, hand made, personal pieces given to a loved one. Hardware is often replaced(as is suspected with this piece) due to loss of keys, etc. There is a removable tray and the box is lined with a turquoise paper. The tray dividers separate from the tray easily. Dimensions: 13.5" L x 7.5" H x 8.25" D Condition: The lock mechanism and hinges seem to be later replacements due to their more crude installation(the screws for the hinges come through slightly the top rim of the box) The locking mechanism does not seem to ... morework. This beautiful and highly ornately designed small brass box dates from 1900-1930. It is stamped Congress St. Louis. There is both a Congress Hotel and Congress St. in St. Louis. So it may have been a souvenir box from that time. This multi-dimensional box features wonderful diamond shaped jewels in the colors of red. Green and blue. I took a picture of the wood and there is an in unusual sticker on the bottom that has a butterfly and reads butterfly wei tang zhi zao. I will leave the regluing to you. The inside is padded and lined with a cream colored satin it is very clean. The top has a little leather handle and there is a snap closure. The leather on the handle is creased. See pic. I have had it for several years and have decided to start parting with some of my most prized antiques as my kids and grands would have no interest in them. The celluloid has several areas where small pieces are missing and the silk lining has some fraying and soiling as well tho not horrible. I just like to point out any flaws as if I were buying it. This box is leather covered with brass with steel raised rivets decorating the outer top and sides and the edges of the cover, top and bottom It has brass handles on each end and a center lock with is functional but without the key. When open you will see that each area is silk lined. Each leather holder on the top inside where you saw the items I placed in there are perfect. The inside is perfect less the cover on the right front corner which I believe were put there for decorative purposes. Photos should complete description. this is a very nice old"Derby" silver plated jewelry or trinket box with four cute round ball feet and a hinged top. It looks good from all sides. the top has some(very) gentle or light dents in the lid(which are more noticed at an angle) It measures roughly 6-1/2" at its widest and 2-1/2" high. It is sound and strong and. As shown, the ragged satin interior at the bottom can easily be lifted and replaced.

For your consideration is this large victorian(rare design) antique Jennings Brothers(JB) French jewelry casket This is a large size casket with some weight to it Lined in purple velvet in excellent condition Beautiful heart and scroll design Front lock(does not have key) Signed 1877 JB on bottom Unsure of the metal but it is very heavy. Gold body in excellent condition with darker metal lid. One of the hinges in the back is broken(see images) Can be repaired missing metal rod. Measures 6 ½” length. 3 ½” height without lid, 6 ½” height with lid. Weighs approx. 3 lbs 9 oz. Excellent condition. Gold on body of casket still vibrant. Lovingly cared for. See images. New owner will be very happy.

Antique Victorian Gilded Brass and Silver Amethyst Hair Pins Jewelry- Shadow Box
This is an absolutely gorgeous set of hair pieces from the Victorian Era. They are displayed in a shadow box that measures 15" x 12" The longest piece has an ornate gilded brass end with an inset Amethyst Stone that is a brilliant bright purple and is 12" long. The smaller pin is sterling and is 2 3/4" long and feature a small Amethyst. The pin is 2" long and 1 1/4" wide. It also features a very large Amethyst that I estimate to be about 4 Karats. I tried the best I could to take pictures. But it was difficult as I didn't want to remove them from the Shadow Box. It's a stunning set of vintage jewelry.

Antique 1870 victorian picture on jewelry wooden craved trinket box
I tried to take as many picture as possible. This is a beautiful old box with a picture print I think? Of Victorian lady's. it looks like it was hand colored. It says Godey's fashion April 1870. It is enclosed in glass. So I don't know if its a print or an origianl. The wood is paints a pretty lilac color, it does need to be secure better and some minor conditioning issues. The box is approx. 8 1/4" long by 6 1/4 wide.
