VTG 1920s Royal # 10 Typewriter Beveled Glass Windows 18" Wide Carriage RARE
I am offering the Royal#10 Typewriter With Beveled Glass Side Windows and 18" Wide Document Carriage. The keys all strike well. No ribbon. All the functions of the typewriter appear in working order. The logo decals are all in good condition. I can't located the serial number on this typewriter, but from my research, it was made in the 1920s. I could not find another one with the wide 18" carriage, so it may be rare. It is in good condition, but needs a good cleaning, which I will leave up to the new owner. I am not an expert in typewriters. I have tryed to take lots of photos, and describe the typewriter to the best of my ability, but if I have missed something or you need a question answered, please feel free to ask. Vintage Antique 1920 ROYAL 10 Typewriter Quadruple Double Beveled Glass Sides
Up for auction a vintage Royal is standing# 10 manual 4 pane beveled glass typewriter. Made in 1920 X580301. Glass keys. Carriage moves smoothly. The 7 key is higher up than the others. Keys strike nice and hard but do not come back always. Didn't oil think that is all it is and was told can adjust the 7 key back. Ribbon looks original but dry and split. Has a stciker on front that says Wagner typewriter sales Lafayette. Has some mssing paint on piece of metal under space bar. No chips in the see through beveled glass sides. For sale I have an Antique ROYAL#10 TYPEWRITER Newly Serviced. Cleaned, Oiled, No Keys Sticking, New Ribbon. This shiney black typewriter is in real good working order with beveled glass panel sides. I also had a new draw tape installed so the carrage moves nice and smooth. There is some paint loss especially around the lower front panel under the spacer bar. All the keys are original and the decals are all intact with some minor spots of feathering on the edges. Because of the weight of these things, the feet are worn. Someone has put tape over them in order to keep it from scratching the surface. It measures about 15 1/2" long(carrage measurement) x about 10" tall x 15" wide. The sserial number is SX-1577576. Which, according to our research, puts production to 1923 OUR OBSERVATIONS: All 4 beveled glass side panels are free of damage. But may have a scratch and need cleaning(see photos 3, 5, and 12) All glass keys on bank are intact with no broken glass. Though ... moresome are dirty and difficult to read(see photos 2 and 11) On typebar in semicircle(part that hits the paper) B and? keys do not sit flush with rest of keys when at rest– they stay up a bit(see photo 8) All keys work properly. Hitting carriage, and shift, backspace, tabular, and spacebar, but shift-lock does not seem to work, or we don’t know how to operate it Paper feeds fine Ribbon is present but torn. So will need repair or replacement Cosmetically. The black surface has some chips, scratches, and spots of oxidation, mostly around edges(zoom all photos and especially photo 12) Chrome and metal parts at both ends of carriage. Beneath carriage, and inner parts of typewriter are dirty, have pitting, and have some oxidation(see photos 9 and 10) Thick notched rear bar farthest back. Which is about ¼” x ¼” x length of carriage is bent(see photo 4) Rubber feet are dry rotted. And some have cracked or have come off completely(see photo 7 and ZOOM) Graphics and decals seem in better than average condition to those we have seen. Antique Royal 10 X Typewriter 1924 12-827296
Being offered for auction is an antique 1924 Royal 10 X typewriter serial number 12-827296. Size: Length across the keys. 10 1/2" Back to front 14 1/2" bottom to top of typewriter, 10" The overall length of the carriage, 17 1/4" Condition: The typewriter is in good working condition. The ribbon is dry but I went through all the keys and there was no sticking or broken keys. The bell rang at the set margin and ribbon advanced. The typewriter has minor nicks and light scratches that can be seen in the pictures. The gold and silver decals show wear and around the lower bottom and front corner edges near the keys show the most wear which is commensurate to age and use. There is dirt underneath some of the glass keys and in picture 10 the bottom of the"margin release" key there is a tiny chip on the glass. In picture ... more9 you can see that several keys do not lay flush. And picture 11 shows cracks and a wavy appearance on the platen likely to be caused by heat/storage. Picture 12 shows that one of the beveled edges has been ground. My guess is that this may have been form the factory. or at a typewriter repair shop years ago. From my research online I believe this typewriter is a single glass panel ROYAL 10 model from 1923. The serial number is(X-780926) According to the online typewriter data base: Serial# 766000 starts in 1923. Single Glass Panels began at about#755000. All the nobs/levers/keys/space bar present appear to function properly. The scrolling bar/sliding bar ... moreand bell work fine. The letter/number keys are functioning. The black/ribbon is old/dried out and needs to be replaced if you plan to type documents with this typewriter. From what I have read these are still manufactured by third party companies. Antique Royal Typewriter Here is a terrific vintage Typewriter! This was made by Royal and they SURE do not make'em like this anymore! I believe this is from the early to mid 1900s. Although it has been stored away for many years and could use a good cleaning. This typewriter remains in remarkable condition. This is the model with beveled glass panes on each side of the typewriter. I've tried it out and all keys work and do not stick. The ribbon still prints in both red and black. The carriage moves freely and the bell rings. My college-aged daughter tried it out and was able to type well, but couldn't find the"return" key! Wonderful, heavy and sturdy construction. Royal Model 10 Typewriter 1927-28? Beveled Glass Sides & Keys
Up for bid is a nice Royal Standard Typewriter. This great machine has the beveled glass on both sides in order to view the inner workings. The serial number is X 1317342 which I dated according to information found online as 1927 or 1928. The machine has its original glass keys. I tried all the keys and they all struck. If you look at the paper picture the typing is faint and I believe it could use a new ribbon. When I got to the end of the line the bell rang. The roller rotated when going to the next line.I found a tiny amount of rust.Some keys stick.I am not a typewriter expert so I do not know what other items to check. This is a piece of history 1920's- 1930's ROYAL Antique Typewriter.I think it is a No. 10 not positive. This is a true collector's gem in original condition. It is nice and shinny and looks great in working condition. It has one of the beveled glass sides missing and the tape and cartridges are missing. These parts are very easy to acquire for little money.This typewriter weighs 40 lbs. before packaging. Very heavy. Some scuff marks but very little. Up for auction is this nice condition antique 1927 typewriter made by Royal. Each side has a large beveled glass window. This is a model 10 with working keys. Does need a new ribbon. Antique #10 Royal Standard Typewriter 1917-Side Panels /Glass Keys & Key Covers
This is a Royal Standard#10 manual typewriter. The Serial Number is 281122 which dates it back to 1917 according to my research. It's almost a century old and still works! Please see the last picture) The tape is in pretty rough shape. dried out and such. But I was able to roll it up enough to type some letters out and assure that the keys function. This typewriter does type and the space-bar works, as does the carriage return, etc. There are about three keys that stick(moody because sometimes they don't) If you look closely, you can see which ones because they are lifted a tad but can most likely be fixed with a proper cleaning/restoration. The typewriter needs to be professionally cleaned and restored but I will not attempt that myself as I am not certified in any way to do so. It's a bit dusty inside but not too bad with minor ... morecorrosion or rust on the metal parts. The body needs some cleaning as do the keys but they are all present and accounted for. The keys have interesting rubber cover with the letter stamped on each one? I really don't know what the material is- it may have been rubber that hardened and cracked with age) These covers come off and reveal the glass keys underneath. The"O" cover is missing. Some of the other covers are in rough shape. I believe the typewriter might have been close to a heat source and the cover to the letter got hot by the appearance of it(see the picture for reference) It still comes off and the keys beneath is fine. The glass panels are not"see through" as I've seen in photos of other models. I don't know if it's because these panels were designed that way or if its because they are replacements for originals that were broken. I find it hard to imagine that exact matches for every side were replaced in this machine, however perhaps? I'm not an expert in Royal Typewriters but a point to mention. Absolutely beautiful and well taken care of Royal Typewriter. This is the number 10 model from 1933. The look represents the period very well. Great 20th century modern/art deco look. It has a single beveled glass window on each side. At one time it was refurbished by the Regal company. I believe this was in the 1940s or 1950s. There are some markings stating this on the back. This was in an attic tucked away in a corner. It was very dusty and dirty. We lightly cleaned it. It will need some oiling and detailed cleaning. It works however the carriage does not always advance when typing letters(space and tab work fine) It does advance when hitting letters sometimes so we feel it is just a good cleaning and oiling to make this a fine running machine. Neat combo of black keys with glass and the 4 window design on the sides. Sorry, no beveled glass. It is just as we found it less some surface dust and grime. These are very heavy. I am the original owner family son. It's been in the family since new. Used it for many book reports etc. Vintage Royal No 10 Desktop Typewriter 1919-1920 Double Window Serial Number X423457 puts it some time in 1919- 1920s. It worked fine in the 1990's when it was lasted used. It could use a little cleaning. New ribbon and the belt on the left side(seen in pictures) which makes the ribbon and page carriage go forward when you type, needs to be replaced. I assume that is the problem. All 4 pieces of glass are in excellent shape. The original decals are in outstanding condition as you can see in the pictures. Bell rings. All keys work pretty good. Antique Royal Typewriter. Model 10 with Beveled glass sides(no case) I am not sure of the manufacturing date, but the Serial# SX-151159 This is a working antique/vintage typewiter. However, most likely it would be used as a display piece as improvements in technology have all but made the typewriter obsolete. All the keys, tabs, space bar, and platen mechanism are operational. It could use some cleaning and a new ribbon(the ribbon still works, but is very light) Cosmetically, there are a few areas with surface rust, but I think that could be rubbed out- mostly it needs a good cleaning. This typewriter is from a local estate and is in good to excellent condition but for an accumulation of dust inside. All of the keys are free and working. 2 or 3 do not always return fully to the resting position but I am told that is an easy adjustment. I do not have a ribbon for this machine so am unable to show a type sample. One rubber foot is missing from the bottom and the rubber boots on the carriage wheels are present but a bit deformed. Antique ROYAL Typewriter Co Standard 10 EARLY 2 Beveled Glass Sides ALL ORIGINAL
Up for sale is an Antique Royal Standard 10 Typewriter. This is a beautiful machine. It has some of the most amazing patina I have seen on an antique. It is in well worn, well aged, well used machine. Two of the keys stick, it has nicks, scuffs, paint loss, etc. It definitely shows it's age, but it shows it in the best way possible. You can see directly through this machine, into the mechanical workings, and back out the other side. I tried to highlight this in the photos. This may not be the best working machine, but it may be the best looking. This machine would be excellent for a display piece. But also appears with a good cleaning and going through it would work. The keys need oiled for sure, and I only tested a few, but they seem to go up and down if you help them. This is for someone who likes their antiques to look antique. Royal typewriter #10, serial number X711674, 1923 with double glass side windows
This sturdy typewriter was used by my mother in the early 1960's and has sat on a shelf since then. carriage and keys are functional but ribbon needs replacement. The plastic cover shown in the one picture has been over the typewriter for as long as I can remember. The double glass windows on right and left sides indicates an earlier model but the serial number. According to the web, places the date of production in 1923. As you may see from one of the photographs, the bottom is partially covered with metal.

Royal 10 Typewriter with one glass sides. By comparing with other similar ebay items. I think it is 1920s. I could be wrong. Please judge by the pictures. I tried all keys and all seem to work. The belt was broken as shown. So the drum wont move. The left side glass window is missing as shown. For parts or repair only. No return accepted. Over all in used condition.
