Two vintage footed sake cups with a Phoenix or Firebird motif in iron red with blue trim. Good condition except for one tiny chip on the edge of one of the cups. They are stamped on the bottom with one having a wax stamp. I believe it is an export approval stamp from Shanghai Cultural Relics Bureau. Both measure 2" tall and 4" in diameter. Two Personal Handwritten Pre-Civil War Era Letters dated Jan 7th 1824 and March 26. 1826. 12" x 7" The 1824 letter is in good condition. Somewhat soft(as you would expect) but no flaking. The 1826 letter is fair with some rips as seen in the photos. Both were originally folded and sealed with red wax for mailing. The 1824 letter is addressed to"Hiram Murdock. The clasp is marked 1/20 12K GF. The fob and T-bar are on a slide. The fob is a wax seal type which has a red stone. I do not know what the stone is but it is not plastic as it is cold to the touch. The swivel and clasp work as they should. No chips to the stone. The metal is in nice used condition with very little wear. Brassing or tarnish to the metal. T-bar has some scratches.
