Solid piece of oak with the original walnut finish. Measuring an impressive 11 inches high by 5.5 inches wide and about an inch thick, with the thickness tapering at the bottom. This piece is high on charm with a center roundel and spoon carved leaves, plus several fancy cuts made to look like expensive stacked moldings. These would be great to add as decorative supports to a shelf or to create your own antique upcycled project. They also could be used as stylish bookends, or just conversation pieces. Very Beautiful Victorian walnut display case. Ca. 1880. Carved upper molding with beaded work under this molding, and beading work down either side of front door. Acanthus leaf carvings on upper door molding and a carved leaf in the center of the piece. Original lock and ornate brass escutcheon with key. The case has four shelves plus the bottom of the piece, so basically five display areas. The shelves have two plate grooves on the back of them for display purposes. The case was refinished years ago and really has a great patina(probably a 1000 dollar refinish job) The backboard is a paneled and finished backboard inside. It was a gift to my Great-great-grand-Mother for the birth of her first child. It has all the makings of a Victorian Baby in a christening gown right down to the lace detail. Fingers and toes are so intricate it is amazing. This was a hard decision to make, but with my life style and 4 Bengal Cats, this is an amazing piece and deserves to be highlighted not hidden. I have had it packed away for 11 years and sitting in front of me for a month under a dome. Hi. For sale an antique silver victorian carved trinket/ keepsake box shaped like a Bible or Book. This may have been a gift for a Christening. The top piece with the cherub carving is sterling silver according to my test kit. It has a little bit of padding left underneath the red velvet. It has a M in a diamond mark which is the hallmark for Mandalian Mfg Co. Here is a link that shows the M in the diamond mark: scroll down and the 7th box on the right is the Diamond M Mark. This information I got from Kovels: Mandalian Manufacturing Co. was founded by Sahatiel Gabrabed Mandalian in North Attleboro. Mass. Sahatiel emigrated from Turkey in 1889 and began making jewelry and novelties in the United States. Read more: I believe this box was made in late 1889 to 1906. The diamond M mark says it is Mandalian Mfg. Co. Sterling& Nickle Mesh. ... moreWhen testing this with the silver kit the part that is hand carved with the cherubs tested to be sterling. There is a spot on one of the cherubs head that is smooth and that is where I tested it. See the second picture. It turned creamy white which my tester kit states is sterling silver. I tested directly on the piece. I think it may have some kind of plating to keep it nice but where the coating is gone it shows sterling right away. My tester kit is brand new. The top piece is heavier than the rest also. The rest was not sterling but came out brown which says it is.800 silver. The magnet stuck to the back but not to the front of the book. The two thin hinges work great and it opens and closes perfectly. It is a little over 11oz. It feels heavy. The dimensions are 3 1/2 inches wide. 4 inches in heigth, and 1 inch in depth. WOW- WHAT AN ESTATE FIND and what a BARGAIN As the pictures show. Both of these originals are matching. I have determined that they are indeed Rosewood with certain areas appearing to have the Rosewood laminated over some type of pine( or fir( and yet with other areas solid. I expect that both were reupholstered and I assume the construction was tightened up at that time. Settee is sturdy, very little damage but does have an area on the left rear leg that has had metal bolts( added for support. I can't see up under the protective material, just noticed the heads(visible in 1 photograph) This really doesn't take away AT ALL from the visual and as stated, the Settee is STURDY. The chair on the other hand has been poorly repaired and is weak and nearly useless except for display. It could be repaired correctly with the hands of a skilled ... morewoodworker. This is an antique Victorian mourning pendant with high relief black onyx carved flowers on the front and back. The black onyx is on a swivel and turns within the rose gold frame. I have never seen on this nice or in this good of condition. I have not tested the gold. But the antique dealer assured me it was 14kt rose gold. I guarantee it to be real rose gold somewhere between 9 and 14kt. Circa 1880s, the Victorian era. This is an extremely nice quality victorian 18ct gold cameo brooch. Iis a classic female bust and is beautifully carvedwith excellent attention to detail in areas such as hair, necklace and thef folds in her clothing, the front of the cameo is in lovely condition with no chips, scratches etc etc. When held up to a bright light there is no sign of any cracks, fractures, hairlines et, there is a selection of circular areas on the back which could well have been there originally or maybe they are from something else? there is no sign of these marks on the front and they cannot be seen from the front. The brooch setting is nice and substantial and solid in 18ct gold, the hinge, catch and pin all appear to be original and there is no sign of any repairs or lead solder! the pin looks right and is correctly oversized, the mount is very plain and ... moresimple, with an ornate carving like this you dont need a fancy mount to detract from the carving This is a nice quality good old 18ct gold cameo brooch in overall very good order, if you have been looking for a cameo brooch and want something a little better than the avaerage this could well be for you. Brooch Size 40x30mm. Weight 11.8g. Marked not marked but has been tested and is guaranteed to be solid 18ct gold. Condition cameo is in very good order with no cracks. Victorian style Ladies Chair with Great Rose Carving
This is a chair in excellent condition as far as the walnut wood and structure are concerned. It has some issues with staining on the upholstery that should be addressed. I think these show up pretty good in the pics. The carving on the back is outstanding and a step above what you normally see in these rose chairs. I suspect this chair is probably from the 1970's. But I can't be sure. I bought it at a doctor's estate sale about 20 years ago. This is listed for local pickup, but delivery might be an option if you live close enough by and we can agree on a fee.

This bedroom set includes bed. Marble top dresser and mirror. According to family history this bedroom set was accepted as payment of debt for a parcel of farmland in Georgia. Sold by my grandfather. It was made in England sometime in the mid 1800s in the early to mid Victorian era. The set was professionally restored in the early 1970s and has been in a climate controlled home since then. The headboard for the bed is 84"high and the bed is 77"X59" The dresser mirror is 95"high and the marble top 45"X21"

Antique Victorian Walnut Drop Well Dresser w/ Marble Tops Ornate Hand Carving
We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique drop well dresser. Constructed from walnut. This piece is ornately carved. The piece stands 91.5" high at the center of the mirror. The base is 44.5" wide at the bottom and 44" wide at the top of the drawers. It has an overall depth of 18 1/8" and the height of the center well is 16 5/8" The hardware on this has been replaced but still matches quite well. The pulls all have lion faces on them. The marble slabs that sit on the top of the drawers have a space that is approximately 1/2 an inch on each side where the wood shows. I am unsure as to whether these pieces were replaced or not. The slab of marble that sits on top of the well fits snugly and appears to be original to the piece. There are"wings" that attach on each side of the mirror that ... morehave attached candle stands on the front. These also have ornate carving on them. The mirror has beveled glass and is in good condition. There are some age separation cracks on the side panels and there is also a crack on the inside panel on the left side. There are some light surface scratches on the bun feet and base from use and most likely from a vacuum cleaner. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown.
