Very nice pair of silverplated figural napkin rings. Engraved"For Auntie" and"For Uncle" on the backs. Hands holding a flowering branch. I believe this is a hand holding a flowering olive branch which would be the symbol for peace. Both are 1-5/8" tall by 1-3/4" diameter(inside) Uncle is heavier at 3.2 oz while Auntie is 2.7oz. so basically he just has a little thicker skin. Uncle has a smooth finish while Auntie has a very very fine dimpled or satiny surface finish. Her finish makes her look a little grayer than uncle due to the way the light reflects off her. When I cleaned it up a bit I could clearly see that is two crossed hands over a letter T. The ring appears to be quite old and that could explain the absense of a metal purity mark. Inside of ring shows considerable wear and it may have been worn off. The hammered finish could indicate it was hand made. Acid tested positive for sterling silver. For auction. A group of sterling silver milagro charms on a long sterling necklace chain. Included in the seven charms are a dog with wings, a woman's lower back and buttocks, a leg, an open-palm hand with a heart, a hand with shirt cuff, an ankle and foot, and a second dog. Together the necklace weighs 36.1 grams; the charms are solid, heavy casted pieces. The largest is the open hand at about 1 1/2" the smallest is the dog at 7/8" The chain that they are attached to is vintage Italian. It is a wonderful work of folk art.
