19th C. Rare Turqoise Color Ceramic Chinese Crab Bowl (Stoneware)
This unusual Chinese ceramic crab is a marvelous work of craftsmanship that honors the ocean. It is stoneware and is possibly native Chinese. The crustacean sits in its standard position with bug like eyes starting ahead. His massive claws look ready to pinch. The detail is incredible. Even the flat bottom. Where the glaze was not applied is ribbed. The rich color of the glaze(a turqoise with greenish accents) matches the sea to which it pays homage. Each leg and every node, in turn, imitates the beauty of the actual creatures. It immediately draws the eye when one enters the room. The inside is a delicate contrast to such a striking hue- with an earthy grey color in the interior. This piece would make a fine addition to any seaside home or to any nautically themed collection. The piece is in good condition considering its age. There is some ... morewear on the bottom from sitting and several chips in the paint as seen in the photographs. There is also a minor crack that goes not go all the way through on the left side of the creature(if the crab is facing you) It is right near the point where the curve changes direction. Rare Hand-Carved Chinese Cinnabar Bookends - 19th C.
Rare pair of 19th century Chinese Cinnabar bookends with fine dark patina. Hue and patina are just what you would expect and want in 100-year-old cinnabar. Base is about 4-5/8" x 2-5/8" and they're 5" high. Superb condition with a bit loss seen only from the back(see our images) but no loss to cinnabar. Hand carved so details differ slightly. Cinnabar was apparently laid over cast iron. So they're heavy and sturdy enough to support books as intended. Serious bidders only. Shipping is free within the U.S.

A rare early 19th century Chinese Tibetan Censer made of copper and mounted with coloured stones and white metal fittings. There are also remains of gildings and inlaid yellow metal. Its a beautiful item standing 13.2cm high and approx 17 cm across. Its worn as you can see so please examine all the close up pictures for exact condition. Antique Chinese bronze censor, Foo dog. Very attractive. 19th century. Rare.
I purchased this lovely Foo dog from a reputable auction house where it was described as 19th century. It is beautifully modelled with a strong shape. Great expression and fine surface detail. It measures 14 cm in length, 13 cm in height and 10 cm in width. There is a hole in the back where incense can be put inside to burn. The condition is very good, there are a couple of little holes near the tail as can be seen in the photographs but these are not obvious and do not detract from the piece. This is quite a heavy item so please ask for an international postal charge, the one given is just a guide. I shall answer any questions as quickly as possible. Thanks for looking.

We will start by stating this Wonderful Antique Asian Shrine is SOLD WITH 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEED TO BE OLD& ORIGINAL. PROVENANCE- Fresh from the Estate of a 95 year old woman who was very well to do& collected Antiques her whole life. Family said that she bought it in a High End Antique Shop in New York City somewhere in the late 1960s to early 1970s. They said that she would never tell the family what she had paid for it. It was sold to her as being 19th C or earlier& was a TIBETAN TEMPLE SHRINE possibly made by Monks. We will Guarantee it to be 1900 or earlier& to be Asian- we are not sure if it's Tibetan or Chinese or India but no doubt about the age& that it is Asian. We can not say for sure it was made by Monks as we simply don't know. We have done some research over the last two weeks& can not find ... morewhere a similar shrine has ever surfaced in the market place. Over all is Approximately 49 in long x 40 in high x 19 in deep. It is set with hundreds if not thousands of real Coral& Turquoise stones. The roofs of the two temple buildings are set with Real Coral stones. Body is brass over wood body. Has all original untouched Patina& has no restoration& no repairs. Has two Food Dog type statues on steps that appear to be Bronze. Shine is of a very Detailed Temple may have been modeled after an original temple in Asia. Condition- has some missing coral& turquoise stones. Has some spotting on patina from years of being stored( see photos) Has some minor edge wear to brass metal that covers the wood on a few corners( see photos) Over all it's in Very Good all original condition with no serous condition issues.
