Standing on three ... moregraceful decorative legs. The burner is adorned with two different inset scenes of flowers, foliage and birds. The sides and the top all have a foo dog on them with excellent detail. The entire piece has a natural patina and stands 9-3/4" high to the top of the foo dog, and 5-3/4" wide at the widest point. There is a small ding in the bottom of the burner, and one of the side foo dogs tail seems a bit shorter, but it is smooth so it is either very old or done in manufacture. Chinese Antique Table Screen Panel - Mother of Pearl Inlay - Fine - 19th Century
This is the central panel from a fine 19th century Chinese table screen. It no longer has the frame. It is finely inlaid with mother of pearl decorated with bats etc flying around a tree on a dark hardwood back. like rosewood or similar. There is a fair bit of the mother of pearl inlaid missing so it is sold as seen with no returns. Most the bits missing are on the tree section. Large 19th century Chinese figural pewter duck dish on tray, with incredible details. This superb piece was likely made in Swatow(Shantou) in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The duck is beautifully formed and has wings mounted on springs so they actually move(en tremblant) The piece has finely detailed hand engraving all over. It has jade and carnelian"jewels" mounted on the duck and flowers(see photos) and 2 carved jade frogs mounted on the tray. There is a small pewter duck next to the larger duck. There is a fabulous pewter lotus pod with carnelian"seeds" and lotus flowers& leaves mounted with more jade and carnelian"jewels" The duck even has a tongue, it is up against the roof ... moreof the duck's mouth. A Very Fine Quality Chinese Rosewood Stand. Made of the finest quality hardwood with very fine workmanship. Very unusual shape. I do not know the original use of this object. I think it is a display stand. But do not know for what kind of object. It must have been an important and precious object. Because the wood alone was expensive. Size: 34 x 9 x 9.5 cm. The flat wood part is 2,7 cm thick, the feets 1 cm high are carved from one piece. The round part is 6 cm high and 8 cm diameter. Weight 990 gram. Dating: late 19th/ early 20th century. Very good condition. Except a hairline crack on sides and top of the round part. Shipping in Europe is $ 21 for registered priority airmail. Decorated with intricate floral designs on a blue ground and raised center with various characters. Turquoise blue enamel inside the cup and on the back of the saucer. Date 18th to early 19thC. Qianlong to Jiaqing period. Cup measures 2.75 inches in diameter, handle to handle 4 1/2" and 1 15/16" tall to top of handle. Saucer measures 5" in diameter and 7/8" tall. Very fine ornately carved marriage or dowry bed. 84"W x 89"D x 95"H Original painted side panels intact(designed to be removed seasonally) some fading/losses to paint. Overall condition very good. Bed frame 44 x 79, previously made custom foam mattress included. Chinese wedding traditions go back many centuries and involve much preparation and superstition. Upon a betrothal(with most partners having never met before the wedding) A lavish bed was commissioned, the quality and decoration of which depended largely on the financial means of the families. The bed would often take as long as a year to complete. These beds reached their zenith of quality in the 2nd half of the 19th C and are among the most decorative quality pieces of furniture found anywhere. With bronze backing. It depicts an old man and child walking in the wilderness. The carving is very nice, detailed, and dimensional. The bronze on the back has a dark patina. Which indicates that the piece is quite old. AGE: Late 19th century. Late Qing Dynasty. CONDITION: Very good condition. As shown in the photos and with the following noted: No cracks.
