You are bidding on a lucite Commemorative Badge from the Atlanta Police Department that was worn by all APD officers during the 1996 Games. This lucite display was manufactured by Gerard R. Davis LTD in Slatersville. RI who also manufactured the badges worn by the officers. The badge has the official Centennial Olympic Games torch logo. The lucite is approximately 3/4 inch thick and 4 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. The lucite has a small chip on each front corner as shown in the photos but I mounted mine in a finished wooden base and this area is concealed. For sale is a rare. Limited edition, National Park Service commemorative badge. This badge was allowed to be worn by NPS Rangers as uniform badge during the year 2000 only. Unlike standard-issue uniform badges that are signed out and returned after termination of duty. These badges were offered for sale to NPS employees. And they are personal property. The badge is made up of the standard NPS gold-tone. Buffalo design with the addition of vertical, silver rays extending from the top and the bottom. On the obverse there is a raised image of a charging soldier with a rifle and on the reverse there is an image of a plane flying over The Great Wall of China and there is an inscription“ 支那事変記念 昭和十二年” which means China Incident Commemorative. 1937. The lower non-transparent part of the cas e has no apparent damage. The badges look very good. Clean, almost like new. They have never been removed from the paper underlay sheet and never been worn.
