This is a used postcard and is postmarked 1910. Card shows The Christian Science Church Boston Massachusetts MA. Card publisher is The Souvenir Post Card Company New York Printed in Germany. The overall condition is good or better. Always check corners and edges for possible wear. The top edge in the middle has a bad crease/small tear. The bottom edge has some damage too(see scan) As grading is subjective, please look at scan for faults/defects. A postally unused card may have writing on the reverse. The Golden Age of postcards. Marked by the"divided back" began on March 1, 1907 with the enactment of a new law by Congress. This law, for the first time, made it legal to pen a message on the reverse side of a postcard. Antique Steam Locomotive Bronze Bell With Cradle School, Cupola, Church 1890's
Antique Locomotive bell. The bell has 512 carved into it. That is the original locomotive number. It also has a couple of other numbers carved into the top of the cradle as they reused these for decades. Each time the bell changed engines the number was carved into the cradle. This is 1890 or before. These were outside exposed to the weather so this still having all the original components is rare. It has a couple small dings and typical pitting on the cradle and is complete. It rings nice. Could be used in a cupola. School, Church or as a display piece. It could be polished to a high sheen. This is an Antique Hillsboro Bell. It is Cast Iron and is imprinted 1886 This comes with mounting bracket& has a lot of patina. It’s very loud and there are no cracks to note. Bell when mounted in bracket sits out from the wall 19” Rim of bell is 14.25”dia Bell itself is 9”T 20”W from edge of bracket to edge of arm. Brackets are 3.5 x 2.5 x 19.5” from top to bottom- From bottom of bracket to the very tip of bell it’s roughly 38”T Bell sits in place very easily and has easy movement. Works great and boy will it call in the crowds for dinner or Church or just about anything! Upper Bell bracket reads CS Bell Co.
